I still think there is still too much flex in the car regardless. Not just the chassis but the whole suspension as well. I can easily change the caster just by moving the hubs back and forth for example. People tell me to try the graphite carbon stuff (will increase its responsiveness on higher traction tracks) but do I really want to spend about another $100 to make it competitive? I've driven a stock XXXS and for the same price, the XXXS is a much, much better car. I am in fact looking to add an XXXS G+ to my list of cars to get. Maybe even a Pro 4 if I can hold out long enough and see how it turns out.

These are just my opinions. Please note that I still like HPI but am not all too thrilled about my Pro3 owning experience.

Yes, I had the same problem. I bought the PRP chassis and then sold the car and never ran it after installing it.

I do not have any high expectation from HPI Pro 4. This is because you know that it is not going to be any revolutionary design or breakthrough in it. It is probably just like Tamiya EVO 3 or TC3 look alike. The most important is how they going to deal with flex in graphite chassis in case of the crash. Stripping the Gear is one major concern for most of the Chassis shaft car like Barracuda and EVO 3.

Along with the car, you have to see what Atsushi Hara is doing for the upcoming year. He finds three experts (Tamiya, Yokomo and Kawada) from different companies to help him out for the year 2003 and planning to get the IFMAR title again in Year 2004. And also Hara is planning to come out some option products under his name like Masami's YMP.

All I know, Hara is more like a business man than RC Car Driver.

Kinwald, Francis, Drake, Baker...these guys have/had parts, tools and kits named after them. AE uses Easton's and Pavidis' paint jobs in their RTR kits. It's just marketing.

R+D must have been really expensie on that car, I mean plop down 400bills for a Barracuda, and then pay Hara $500,000 to build it.....LOL Looks way too much like a direct clone!!!!

I dont get it - why talk like this about a car, which still is a prototype? Why dont you guys wait and see what actually comes out on the streets?

Barracuda strip gears just as well as EVO 3. I got one Barracuda without the "One Flag" motor Mount. I just keep stripping the Spur Gear when I crashed. After I install the motor mount, it no longer the problem. I saw the R2 of Barracuda with the two speed, the chassis is more rigid than before. I am falling towards it again because I like the car so much.

EVO 3 is more like the way that they hold the spur gear adapter and that create some wobbling effect. You can try to shim 0.2mm to reduce the wobbling effect and that should eliminate the problem.
