Default Some notes for y'all on those prototype videos...

Those pics are from May last year, so they're not exactly news.

The driver is JMB = Jean-Marc Betticher, Swiss Orion/HPI driver.

Looking through the windows, it's one of the "motor on the right" (TC3 style) cars, rather than one of the "motor on the left" style cars as we saw in the recent Hara pics.

I recall seeing Karl Marsden driving his Pro 4 around Halifax at the UK HPI challenge there - again, the car was very smooth and fast. I think he put it into the A at the national the following week.

Default YOKOMO GETS THE SHAFT...

Looks like Yokomo will beat HPI to the starting grid with a new shaft driven MR4TC-SD. price to sell around $330.00 and available by end of March. The car looks very nice especially with the SSG chassis.

I forsee a sh*tload of belt cars up for sale in the next few months.
I think HPI is looking to improve that with this new car JDM. They've only had a race "team" for what, maybe 2 yrs. now? Yokomo has had problems with the plastics they've used on the MR4 series suspenion components, hopefully they've remedied this. I'm still pulling for HPI. Luckily I already have my tc3 and have been doing pretty well with it. Later--Al

That Yok looks a little like my TB Evo III!

I have the MR4TC worlds - I'd give the "SD" a try, that’s for sure.

Just to be on topic - a few guys at our local track have expressed interest in the Pro 4 as soon as it comes out.

I would have to think that it would be in that range unless HPI wanted to "BONE" themselfs

their are only so many ways to build a shaft drive car. Unless the new yok and the new pro4 have alum bulkheads they will suffer the same problem the evo 3 is and that is poor handling with foam tires. For allot of racers that is not a big deal but I spend half of my racing season indoors on carpet so a very sturdy chassis is important. The 414m2 works well on foam because it is so sturdy the evo3 is very flimsy because of the plastic bulkheads. I hope the pr04 is either a tub type chassis (tc3 xxxs ) or at least has alum. bulkheads. I do like the way the yok looks but I bet it will be more suited for a outdoor situation.
