Has anyone built one for themselves or knows how to build one?

If you are using the lipo in your car then from my experience they arent necessary. Just pull your car off the track when you notice it starts to slow down. My LRP has cutoff for lipo and when I let it cut it off it went a lot longer then I would have pulled if off the track.

As the interest in LiPo has increased, the issue of voltage cutoff has come up more often, with some people not even wanting to use a speedo along with LiPo, unless the speedo has voltage cutoff.
I've been running LiPo for about a year now, and the speedo I used didn't have a voltage cutoff. In reality, I don't see it as neccesary unless your a backyard basher and are used to running the car until dead.
If your using your pack for racing, you'll never get anywhere near the danger level for your LiPo. While running 19t class, I usually only used about 1700-1800mah in a race. Thats out of a 4800mah Orion Platinum pack! That means I could run 2 races without charging, and still not be anywhere near danger.
Voltage cutoff is something okay to have, but like or8ital said, its something that you wont likely get much use out of.

I ran enduros, so it is a necessity. Can a 3300 lipo handle 2 20 minute heats?
