LRP Pulsar Comp Charger
Hi..
Anybody use LRP Pulsar here???
I wonder what setting you guys use for the peak detect... I use 20mV and charge current at 5 amps... the batt seems to be not fully charged... i.e. full discharged 3000Ni-Mh batts show 25++mAh when charged at the above settings...
However, I tried charging the batt with 5.5Amp and its seem that the batt runtime increase and the puch is consistent untill the batt is flat...
Anybody use LRP Pulsar here???

I used the Pulsar, I'm a beginner at RC. So I just followed that chart that was included with the charger. Seems to work well.

i also using the pulsar.
maybe ur charger is false peaking.check if too hot...if not just resume OR set 25-30mV but this shouldn't be done to old cells.
maybe ur cells also really not good already.
if wanna see how consistent the batteries are just run a discharge and see the voltage read out from the charger...can actually see how it drops.if it stay high for long times means better(duh)

What's the difference between the Pulsar Comp, and the Pulsar Sport? I don't know anything about LRP chargers and might get one.

Strange bug?
I noticed something strange about the LRP Pulsar Competition charger. If you leave batteries connected to the charger while you disconnect the charger's power supply, the Pulsar is still powered on by the battery itself! Any other owners experiencing this strange behaviour?

I think that all chargers that have single output leads will allow reverse current for the peak detection. My INTEGY 16-2 does the same thing, but my Reedy Quasar Pro has seperate sensing leads so the battery packs won't power it up alone.

25mv seems awful low for racing and 6 cell sub "C" packs. I would bump it up to 40mv. I charge my 5 cell receiver packs at 60mv.

If that is done while charging (i.e.: power goes out), the CE Pitbull gives this error message, "Arg! Low Amps".

The strange thing was that LRP was connected to the same power supply that was powering another Schulze. When the power was switched off, the Schulze was also complaining about low voltage input on a dim display! The battery output circuit is linked directly to the input wire!!

it will power up upon connection to either a pack of batteries OR power supply or both.
this is designed to be.
bcos the pulsar is the purpotedly only charger that can resume charging after power failure..so in event of power failure....
the current amount of charge that is shown/recorded on the charger is stored/maintained on the charger by power from the battery pack...
while ur power supply is not connected no function is available..like discharging,etc.
I believe the Schulze does not have this ability.
