Default Brushless motor question

My friend got a brushless motor and it has 3 leads going off of it. He connects the 2 power wires on a power supply, it runs for a min or so then stops. What is this? Its not going to be used in a rc car so it will just be the 2 power wires i need or will it not work that way?

to run a brushless motor, you will need a brushless motor speed contoller. If all you have is two wires with DC current you need a regular brushed motor.

Whats it going to be used for?

I have no useful info, except to interject that slotcars are already berzerkly fast and I applaud your efforts.

lol yeah... figured a 12 volt motor with almost 17 volts going through it would sound pretty nice with the jet thing attached to it. Just need it to be simple like a normal motor with a positive and negative... oh well!
