Default new guy question on ESC

im considering buying a traxxas 4-tec electric. should i get the one with the ESC or without? i don even know wat esc is all i no is that its electronic speed control!

You might want to first ask if you should get the 4-tec.. if you're just bashing around the parking lot and your hobby shop supports Traxxas TC parts, then go for it..

The ESC supports the 20T motor it supplies with the kit, but who knows if it'll support a 19T motor..

I'd think about a Associated TC4 RTR as well, parts are plentiful, and it's a great car to race around.

If you plan on staying with the hobby a while, I would get the kit w/o the ESC and spend a little extra on a better ESC. The ESC is one of the components you want to spend extra money for, it can make a big difference in the overall performance and enjoyment of the car.

i agree with Tsquare....beside ESC, having a high end radio is a good investment too.my opinion is spend extra money to buy a medium or high end ESC...you can use it all the time you playing RC..
