Default Messed up stick pack?

My 2000 mah nicad stick pack gives absolutely no punch when i run it but it discharges normally. Would a messed up wire have anything to do with it?

I'm no expert here, but a 2000 mah NiCd pack is somewhat outdated. A faulty wire could be an issue in terms of resistance. Also, NiCds develop "memory" over time which means that you had to flat line them after every run. If you did not drain the batteries, then they would develop the memory and not peak correctly. Exactly how old are the batteries? It seems like you might be ready for some new batteries. Good luck.

Almost a year old. I think that it's fully charged. just not giving enough punch to move the car.

Sounds like you may have a dead cell, ie its become open circuit and now is just allowing current to pass through

No.

If that bothered, buy a new 2000 stick pack for about $30

Well 2 of the cells are dead. This gives me a reason to tear off 2 cells and make a motor run in battery.

Honestly if you are going to buy new packs, get some 3700 packs, they will be much better than your 2000's as long as your budget can stretch that far

Well I do have a 3900 nimh and a 3300 lipo as race packs. I only use my 2000, 1700 and 1500 as practise packs.
