It appears that XRAY has made an update to their wheel axles just in time for the T2'007. This update makes the axle modification in our XRAY T2 Tips & Tricks article a lot less neccessary.

The edges inside the "axle cup" are now tapered (look closely):

Thanks to XRAY for making a great kit even better!

That's dirt cheap and just barely over dealer cost.

parts for around $200. That would be cool and I know many would update if that was the case.

One user on the xray forum still complained about chatter at full lock with the new car http://forum.teamxray.com/viewtopic....=asc&start=220 (last post)

Unfortunately its impossible to get rid of all the chatter, this is because we don't use "proper" CVDs on any RC car available on the market today. A proper CVD that stops all chatter in the steering would cost a lot of money and would ramp the kits cost up by far, it would be possible to do, but the small size of the parts and the accuracy makes it quite expensive to do.

I think it can also be caused by not having the centre of the CVD inline with the kinpin pivot axis, but thats normally on other cars than XRAYs, because of the build quality of the front hubs.

Hope this helps
Jonny

They are still not the True CVD, but obviously they do help stop some of the chatter.
