Hi all, got kind of a silly question for you all. What happens when I put the 2mm top deck on a 3mm chassis? Will it upset the order of the universe?

I was just trying to get this orion 2400 lipo in my thick chassis 007 and was wondering if a top deck change will work out for me.

thanks

Not sure about the thinner top deck, but using the standard thickness top deck and chassis, I am able to use the Orion 3600 and 3800 LiPo. I did have to grind away one screw hole on the rear battery side bulkhead. Is the Orion 2400 taller than the 3600 and 3800s?

Regardless, the distance between the chassis and top deck is the same, since the height of the bulkhead is the same. It doesn't matter what thickness the top deck is.

Thanks, I might try that body and I still have the alpha romeo.

Last week was my first time racing electric tc, man that was fun. Only problem I have was after two minutes of running my car seems slower, I had a half track lead and everyone caught up to me. Iam using maxamps lipo with gtb esc, after the run my temp is only 150 deg. Is it a bad lipo? What amaizes me is some of the guys have the same motor 13.5 as me and my car doesnt run as fast as their 's my gearing is about 104 to 39 64p. Any sugestions?

Try adjusting the settings on the GTB to give it more punch/power. Also, are the other people running the same speedo and or gearing as you? I know a lot of the guys at my local track ran the GTB, and had the same issues, no matter how much gear they threw on their cars, they were just not as fast as others. A simple (yet expensive) speedo swap might be the answer.

It could be a bad power capacitor. I changed the cap on my GTB once and suddenly it was faster than the LRP's!

Spur - RW or PRS, Pinion - PRS.

In reality, it depends on a lot of factors. Track size, motor brand, ESC brand, how much timing you're running, number of cells, etc. On our local carpet track, guys are running a rollout of around 2.0 inches (50.8 mm). Start with a 96 tooth spur and adjust your pinion based on tire diameter to start around a rollout of 1.8 inches (46 mm) and go from there. Some motors like bigger rollouts, some smaller.

The guys here have been finding that whatever rollout they were running with a CO27 brushed motor, they need 2x the rollout for 17.5 BL.

my first lipo was a 3600, there is no way around it you have to dremel that bulkhead. Just shave a bit at a time just enough to get the pack in, if you want to continue using that upper chassis screw hole you'll need to install a shorter screw.

Currently im using a SMC 4000, and i can use a longer screw in that spot now, i used the 4 plastic corners on the lower chassis and cut them square to hug the pack when slid onto the chassis. Tapes in very nicely.

What is the maximum and minimum tooth count in 64P and 48P for the 007? I thought 64P was 130-150 anyone know for sure.
Thanks,
Tim

My shocks is leaking all four, is that a common problem to xray cars, one of them I replace new body and buttom cap and still leaks. I had many rc cars before and not even one leaks or not this bad. Another question I've heard that you dont need to balance ORION lipo?

Did you also replace the o-rings? Also, check you shock shafts for any nicks or scratches. If there are any, you should replace them, as they will continue to chew up the o-rings and make the shocks leak.
