You ugly car xray drivers are rude!!!! The best way ta set your diff is first pick up your car, you will need coveralls> xrays are always dirty, if I had one I wouldn't clean it ether. Then turn any wheel and if it's all like crunchy and wobbly then it's an xray (not worth fixing) Next thing ta do is put it in a trash can and get the best car > Cyclone < You know you xray guys all want one

Anyone know a good place to get a diff rebuild kit? Or can anyone give me the part numbers to do a complete overhaul on the diffs.

Default 64P Spurs

Hi there,

What brands of 64 pitch spurs fit the T2'007 besides the xray ones? What's the biggest 64P spur that can fit?

Thanks.

RW, PRS, and Robinson spurs fit the 007, although the Robinson (and the non-Pro Touring PRS and RW) spurs don't have the motor screw access holes. Basically, all of their spurs fit the 007, some are easier than others. I think that the largest that fit are 118 tooth. Maybe 120, if you're lucky, or you grind away a slot in the chassis.

Hello!!I just got a t2 and I have a few questions. I have a 13.5 motor and a 87 tooth 48pitch spur on the car, what pinion do you recomend using (how many teeth). My car doesnt have swaybars do I need to buy them or leave it as is. What gearing do you recomend if I switch to 64 pitch gears, Ill be running rubber tires on asphalt track. Last one how about springs what color front and rear? Sorry for asking to many questions I just want to get my car running in the right direction Thanks

A good baseline FDR for the 13.5 is around 4.5. So with the 87T spur, you would need to use a 32 or 33 tooth pinion. A great site for gear calculations is Gear Chart. If you switch the 64P, you just want to keep the same FDR as w/ 48P; 100 to 108 tooth 64P spurs work well w/ 13.5. As for the swaybars, it really depends on the condition of the track (bumps, level of traction, flow) if you will use the swaybars. They are not a bad thing to have in your box. Springs, white front w/ yellow rear & Xray 30 oil (350 new version) and you should be in the ballpark. If your car did not come w/ either a multi-diff or spool for up front, that might be a part you might want to invest in prior to the sway bars.

If you are running a 13.5 and/or a 17.5... You want to get the smallest spur gear you can find!! Seriously! Because brushless motors are super torque, so you have to compistate with a large pinion gear. Unless you wanna buy a whole new range of pinions, Try going to the smallest spur gear to be able run the smallest range of pinions possible

Also, for example, I was running a 007 last year with a 112 spur gear.. The max pinion that my bulkhead would allow was a tight mesh 38tooth pinion. And I was still undergeared with my 13.5.

I had 2 options.. Either dremel my bulkhead some to allow for the motor to move out to put a bigger pinion on (I didnt want to do that) or buy a 104tooth spur gear from Nexus Racing. (At the time, Xray didnt have their line of smaller 64pitch gears, So the only one I could find was the RW 104 toother..)

I am talking 64 gears though, Im not sure whats the smallest 48 pitch out there. Usually touring guys run 64 pitch to allow for finer Rollout/FDR outcomes and we leave 48pitch to offroad stuff.

In addition to what Ben posted, the motor itself can limit the gearing that will fit in your car. The Novak motors have a flat surface where you bolt the motor to the bulkhead. The Speed Passion, Trinity, and others have a small ring around the motor shaft, PICS, and this ring hits the bulkhead, further limiting your gearing.
