By no means am I a Tire Expert, but it would seem to me at those temps a 32 or 36 would handle the heat better, your RP-30s are probably overheating. Here is a link to the Rubber Tires for Dummies Thread, you may want to ask them http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=59268

Dave,

Do you access to Sorex 36 tires, if you can get some try them. They are an excellent hot track tire. How's the car going BTW.

Try one of the Reedy Race setups for 19t spec, they run RP 30's and soda syrup is also used for traction spay, track temps are about the same.
Trav's 2006 setup works most anywhere.

Go to Teamxray.com and look for Dave Bowser's setup at the Reedy Race. That is the setup that I have on my car and it works really well. Good luck.

hi guys

the drive shaft replacment plastic cap of my T2 007 was torn off and i ran out spares including the LHS that carry Xray parts. I checked the HB's and tamiya's plastic caps as well but they're short.

I was wondering, are there any other plastci caps from other kits that will fit the t2?

Steve and everyone else-
That's the type of information I was looking for. The car was fine a month ago and I TQ'D stock with it. Now that the weather is hotter I was looking for a good setup. I aggree the RP-30's were to hot but other were running 32's and 36's (RP's) without much success. I'm thinking our track is losing it's seal coat and everyone is dealing with the same problem.

Just curious...

Are you running the US or EU chassis? Are you running the chassis hard or soft? Also, what springs?

Thanks for the info.

I'm running the US chassis and haven't seen a disadvantage in doing so. The top deck has very few screws in it. I'd like to try the 2.0mm top deck and see how that fairs. I'm running the standard setup with blue-green springs in the front and yellow springs in the rear. I was thinking of trying white springs in the front but opted to deal with my car. I usually change tires for my first change in setup but when others at the track are running 32's and 36's (RP) with out much success I'm going to try a different tire brand before I spend money on more tires.
