Probably not as much.

The plane/heli guys have done a lot, LOT of testing with cells, and are a great source of information about the different brands, and some of the shady stuff that goes down with Chinese manufacturers. Here's an interesting thread on the subject: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=482413.

Anyway, sorry to drift off-topic, I feel obligated to try and dispel LiPo misinformation when I see it. I encourage people that are interested to spend some time reading, and educate themselves on the subject as best they can. And in MaxAmps' defense, it sounds like they're working hard to find the best source of Chinese LiPo, at their own expense. There's just no way they're Korean cells at those prices, and they would surely advertise it if they were.

How about thanking us for the free, quality bump to this dead thread? Don't be ungrateful, sometimes threads veer off-topic for a few posts. We already cleared it up, thread Nazi.

I know that. But further discussions on the quality of different brand lipos, did not really add to that . Let's close this and go on discussing the T2'007

XRay is typically seen as a market leader, yet they're now falling behind other brands in terms of easily using LiPo. Will they continue to ignore this market in future cars, or try to find ways to embrace it as other companies have? Is there a chance we'll see a revival of the T1 design to better balance brushless, perhaps as a second car? Does XRay hate LiPo?

As far I understood Xray is not supporting Lipos because it's not regulated yet. And there are no regulating bodies (EFRA, etc.) who have rules / classes which allow lipos. I'm sure Xray will react directly with a car to hold lipos when allowed in national / international races. But if you wanna have official answers you should post a question on the xray forum or contact them direct by email.

XRay builds cars to win race events, why build a car to run a battery that's not allowed by any of the major stanchioning bodies. I don't think you will see lipos added to any of the major races for probably 5 years, just because there is so many unknow aspects of them, especially when it pertains to RC

that maxamp 5000 is gonna fit just perfect in the T2 '007. From the numbers it blows away my Orion 4800, for $35 less i get a pack that fits, has 200 more mah, 20c constant vs 15c, and a deans female plug already on it.

However my orion pack looks way cooler and more professional with a cool sturdy case and a well known name behind it.

Those are the most sorry ass excuses for not adapting to Lipo. The JRSX Type R and MI3 have both proven that you can make a competitive chassis that will fit 6 cell packs and the Orion cases. Both of those cars have put the 007 behind the curve, and not just because they fit Lipo.

Don't get me wrong. I love my 007 but if Xray doesn't have a Lipo answer by the time carpet season comes around I'll be switching allegiance.

I just don't see it happening, why would they want to make a car that fits a battery that you cant use at a major race? Besides it hasent hurt their sales, like someone said earilier, until it is allowed at a major race, I don't see them changing.

Because there's already more consumers using LiPo in touring cars than there are consumers that travel to large events each year? I thought XRay was a trendsetter. You're saying they're a follower.

And the XRay forum is an abortion, rife with censorship and hall monitors that can't wait to give you a pink slip. I'll look for answers where people aren't forced to be positive, all the time. That's not a forum, that's a propaganda machine.
