I pulled one of my diffs completely apart today. It was a little notchy, and I knew from rebuilding a diff a few days ago that the result can be a perfectly smooth diff that spins very free AND doesn't slip. As I suspected, the thrust bearing assembly was extremely dirty. Cleaned it, and went to put it back together. But, I found out that my diff had two 7.8mm washers instead of a 7.8mm and a 8.0mm. The other diff had one of each, like it should.

Has anyone else found this?

My brand new car had the same issue...I am guessing that they made a running change.

So moliver, you think it is OK to re-assembly the diffs like this?

I have run my car that way without experiencing any ill effects. I however didn't try to re-engineer the assembly to see just why they had the two slightly different sized washers.

This is probably a great question for the x-ray forum where we could get the real answer.

Chris,

Looks to me like you need more overall uptravel try something closer to 4 mm uptravel front and rear and fine tune from there... you have very little travel as is and that can cause some strange handling characteristics.

You might also want to open up some more holes in the pistons in your shocks.
