what happems when brushless takes over?
 

so what will happen when brushed motors will not be made anymore and brushless will have taken over, what will happen with the good old 27t class etc....

will there be a brushless 27turn motor ???

or will we all have to race with stpuidly fast brushless motors in MOD classes??

so what do you think the furture will bring for classic racing classes?

or (eventually) we'll be running spec brushless classes, instead of 27t it'll be 3000kv or something like that?

We won't know until it happens - I am sure that the tech in brushless will only improve ... as will brushed motors. At the end of the day, I doubt that brushless will take over, but they will be a larger part of racing.

You'll probably see the creation of brushless classes that are similar in speed to current stock and 19T. The Novak 13.5 has proven it's possible to create a brushless motor that's very similar in performance to existing 27T motors. The Novak 4300 is pretty close to 19T, though more fun in some ways because of the the added torque.

Don't fret, slower classes won't go away. Plus, it's going to take years, there's plenty of people trying really hard to make brushless fail.

Hmm..what's next... I think, those miniture hydrogen cars (I know ya'll have seen them) will be the power source for our cars...to charge them... we'll just have to set them under our pit lights for 35min...then were ready to go. :-) ok, maybe not, but it sounds cool.

What will become of all them motor tuner`s ?

Guess they too will die away eventually.

Ya, they might, I think we can expect a rollover in about 4-6 years or so is my guess

I can't wait!!! Although I do like tuning my brushed motors to make them better, I'm sure the BL/LIPO classes will be growing in the years to come.

THey are testing the new "Li-on batteries" better then li-pos!

brushless and lipo will get nowhere if IFMAR goes to 4-cell.

4 cells R too slow....

They'll just have to figure out how to tune brushless motors...

I think ROAR needs to structure something. And it won't be an easy task. IF you go to any "real" or "full scale" races, on the dirt or pavement they all follow NASCAR rules, and it is important that they do for the survival of the local racing and new racers and team even with the technology changing all around. Same with the R/C world, I know ROAR is not popular with some folks but it is important to stick with the rules and classes they have for the same reasons. Some tracks might try to start a spec brushless class, which I agree is the future, but ahead of it's time and will actually hurt the racer turnout.

I guess all you can do is sit back enjoy racing and wait for the the rules to adjust to the changing technology.

I'm am so looking forward to a spec (27T)/Lipo class. I can see myself racing regularly in that class. It will make racing much more straight forward for people like me...charge it...drive it.

In that case it looks even more bad for the tuner`s..... :smile:

As a regular joe that likes to race. Brushless is one of the best things to come to RC in years.

We will see the after market motor tuner die off. Sorry but it will happen. In about 5 years. Less if ROAR can group some rules for a spec motor similar to 27T.
