Default Cleaning bearings

hi all,

I wanted to clean some bearings. Has anyone got experiecne with the RPM bearing blaster tool? Does it work if I am too lazy to pull out the shielding (rubber, metal or teflon...I have all these beraings to clean). Any one got a quick and esy way to clean bearings other than the RPM tool?

Any help will be much appreciated

Cheer , Jademond

I have used the RPM bearing cleaning tool. it is very effective. However, u will waste a lot of motor spray on it... i would give its cleaning ability a 80%, but it saves a lot of time!!!! My ultrasonic cleaner, I give it 100% cleaning ability... but it is not time efficent.

Just dump the bearings in a Zip-lock bag and spray in some motor cleaner. Then close the bag and shake out! This method is just as effective as the INDI Sparkle which i've used too.

ah men! thats exactly what i do. get an empty 20 oz bottle. put about 2 inches of whatever solvent you use and drop your bearings on. start shaking! when youre done lift the seals and put a little oil on the balls. youre done and you didnt have to spend hardly any money.

We use Motor Cleaner or Acetone depending on what we are cleaning.

i use motor cleaner. or wd-40 which i prefer, but if you use wd-40 i'd put a good couple drops of bearing oil in it.

I use this to clean up my bearing :

But if it's too small .... try this (mostly for GP off road bearing) ..

For cleaning solvent, I use any motor cleaner on hardware store (cyclo, etc..)

All bearing seal must be take of to get best result...

Works fine without taking the seals off if the bearings aren't packed with dirt. this is with metal shields which is the only ones i use.
