Default FYI

Well, the IIC is just over a week away and a significant ruling was just made public on the IIC website:

Sintered Rotors Not Legal For 2006 IIC

September 10, 2006 (Milwaukee, WI) - Many questions have arisen regarding brushless motor legality at this years IIC.

"It was our intention since the day that we announced the use of brushless to follow current roar and ifmar
specifications. Our decision has not changed. We will follow these rules. This means that new Sintered rotors
will NOT be allowed in the 2006 International Indoor Championships," explained Scotty Ernst.
"Things may change for 2007 but, for this year's event, we will follow these rules.

So all of you who bought 3.5R's or have upgraded your existing Velociti series motors with the nickel plated rotor should be aware that they should make provisions to go back to the standard Velociti Rotor for the race.

I figured I would get the word out there ASAP... I'm sure there will be plenty of brushless users unhappy with this ruling regardless, but it is better to know now with 9 days left than to be broadsided with the news at the race with no time to get your stuff "back to spec".

Thank you Steve, You saved me some typing.
Just got home from Trackside and the trailer is all packed and ready to go on it's journey to sin city.

Qualifying will be fastest round as all of Scotty's races are.

Internet: Scotty had a couple of calls today with the hotel and he talking again to them in the morning.

Same as last year. The body height rule is that the wing must be lower than the roof.

Sorry for the delay in the answers, as you can imagine we are extremely busy.

Boomer,

So there is no minimum overall height for the body? We can "slam" it?

That was how the body rule was last year, so I expect it should be the same. And also that Boomer said the body height rule is that the wing must be lower than the body.

Bummer about the sintered rotors though, I just switched to mine . Gotta swap it back now.

Based on the entry list and assuming 2 minutes between each heat, it will take 15-1/2 hours to run 2 rounds of qualifying.

If the first heat goes off at 7 AM, they will finish at 10:30 PM on Friday and Saturday. This is with no breaks between the 2 rounds.

Last year, the order was:

1/12 Stock
Stock Rubber
Mod Rubber
19T Foam
1/12 Mod
19T Rubber
Stock Foam
Mod Foam

So IF they keep the same order, 2 mins between each heat, no break between rounds, and start at 7 AM, the approximate finish time on Friday and Saturday will be:

1/12 Stock finish at 4:00 PM
Stock Rubber finish at 4:30 PM
Mod Rubber finish at 5:30 PM
19T Foam finish at 6:45 PM
1/12 Mod finish at 7:30 PM
19T Rubber finish at 8:15 PM
Stock Foam finish at 9:35 PM
Mod Foam finish at 10:30 PM
