Lipo for radios?

hey guys, just wondering where i could source a lipo pack for a M11?..i saw the "matched" one much more offers, but was wondering what other options are available :)

Check out www.vxrracing.com, they offer LiPO packs for most popular radios, or you can find a appropriate size and capacity LiPO, and solder on a connector.

Check Htbatteries.com they are awesome and last a really long time. i have one and couldnt be more happy. with the m11 you probably should add weight so the pack will be about the same so the radio doesnt get too top heavy.

You can also check ebay for lipos, i got my 2100 mah pack i use in my EX10 for less than 5 bucks with a charger. Just make sure you can get the right plug for the pack.

I use this one in my M11 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKFB2&P=0. You have to change the plug to plug into the M11's battery plug, but it fits into the battery compartment really well (i added some foam to keep it from rattling around), it's lighter but not so light it makes the radio feel top-heavy, and it lasts for hours without needing a recharge.

Muchmore has matched Li-Po 11.1V 2100mAh for Airtronics M11.
All of MuchMore's Li-Po batteries equip a High-Low voltage protection circuit. You can charge MR Matched LiPo batteries with non-LiPo chargers!
I really love my pack.

hmmm ...interesting thread poped up to the top, I've been thinking about a lipo for my KO helios, what's the best option out there? I see on that VXR site this: http://www.vxrracingusa.com/prodM_750_LiPo.htm...what would I have to get to charge this pack? Does it come with the pulg that plugs right into the radio? Is there better more higher apacity options?

Yea here....
http://360k.com/nexusracing/product_...9f04f9f72bdd5d

Its matched and can be charged with a standard charger...just set it to a low charge rate...Through the charger port or direct....

It is three times the mah as teh VXR ones...
I had the VXR it really only lasted about an hour of real run time...
The Much More one last 3-4 hours depending home much you messing with the settings.

Hope that helps,
-Shookie <><

So would I be able to just use the regular plug in charger chingadera that plugs into the back of the radio? That's what I'm using now to charge up the 8 MINH's that I have in there now.

acsubie 08-29-2006 06:22 PM

they suggest not charging the battery while its connected to the radio..safe measure

Hey Shookie,

I have 6.5hrs on my MuchMore Lipo Helios pack since the last charge! It is still hovering around 11.0-11.1V.
I am going to go ahead and re-charge it, though...it's been over a month since my last charge :p .

bvoltz 08-29-2006 10:19 PM

Will this Lipo work in the Z-1 or EX-10 Helios?

EAMotorsports 08-29-2006 10:22 PM

One thing with the VXR packs is once your pack gets low you BETTER charge it....When I was using it if it was anywhere near 10volts it would not make it a run...the radio would cut off in the middle of a heat/race!! Thats the reason I got rid of mine.

Best money I spent was on some 2800mah AA Batteries. I soldered 9 of them up in a pack and now my radio will stay over 11 volts for a LONG time!!
