Default XRAY EVO 2 Vs. TC3

Which one is faster? Xray EVO2 w/ C hubs or Factory Team TC3? Give me your input. I don't care about durability, just which one is the faster one.

Depends on the driver and how well they can tune the car to the track. What track are you comparing them on? Carpet? Outdoor? There are too many variables to give one answer. Both are very capable cars.

No Contest.

Just look at international results and see what wins.

It's got to be your best gauge.

Oh by the way. I don't drive a TC3.

I would disagree with that.

International results depend a lot on which company's got the best drivers.

I don't own either car, by the way.

Hi guys. Greetings from Malta.

Interesting statement above. So, assuming that's the case- the driver is the be all and end all - let's look at Europe as a first example.

Who are Europe's greatest drivers?

Very much a matter of opinion.

In my books David Spashett as the only European on road Multiple World Champ has got to be my No 1.
Gilles Groskamp is fantastic. He gets my No 2.

Groskamp drives an X Ray - the only driver in Europe that seems able to wring enough out of it to make it work, and the only X Ray driver to ever get in the top 10 of a World championship event, but what has the poor chap ever won that's of any significance Internationally with it?

If we look at the USA, Baker is admittedly very good, but surely Tossolini, Kinwald, Lemieu, and plenty of others are no worse.

Whichever way you look at it, it's just NO CONTEST.

There are plenty of other factors that would make my choice the TC3, not least of all the fact that in 3 years it has needed no major changes to remain at the top. Can you say that of any other car?

Just my opinion.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

Josh Cyrul made quite a few changes to his TC3. It looks more and more like Tamiya's Evo3.

Think of it this way; the Xray's got 5 friction points, the TC3 has 3...say that belt to pulley is the same effieciency as gear to gear,
99% eff. for sake of argument, then the xray would get 95 percent of horsepower to the ground, while the tc3 would get 97% down. As the efficiency of each friction point goes up the difference gets smaller. If you say 95% eff, the split is 77% to 85%.

Hi guys. Greetings from Malta.

RC Infinity.

I agree that Josh Cyrul's cars look very little like the originals they started life as.

Clearly he enjoys fiddling, like me. If you see my MR4 and to a lesser extend my son's TC3 you will see what I mean.

I asked you a couple of questions in your Dyno thread. Could you log into it.

thanks and regards.

I've just been told there will be guys practicing under floodlights at our track this evening so I'm charging a couple off packs and will be off there now.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

Let's see what happens at the Snowbirds! X-ray is a newer team with not as big budget as the others to buy drivers to their camp.My $.02

My opinion is that if you put an Xray in to the hands of these world class drivers who are currently running TC3's you would soon see them driving the Xray to as many victories as what they are getting with their TC3's...

IMO Xray would have an even bigger team (not paid but maybe 50% sponsorship) if they ever answered an email...lol
great car though.
