Hi Nick,

WHat type of track are you racing on and what size is it? That FDR seems way to low (not big enough pinion). We usually start around a 7.0 on a medlarge track.

I've been running 5.4fdr with my X stock (EA Xstock, one kick arse motor), but the track is very large. It's able to catch and pass just about every other stock car. Only one i couldnt pass were the other X stocks

I assume thats on rubber tires, so 63mm diameter?

Yes my track is fairly top end with only 2 tight corners.
I would say 80-85% of the track im on full throttle. check out our track here: www.jdk.com.au/racemodels.html

And im running brand new GRP foams,,,always brand new so theyre standard diameter,or,depending on the track i will run standard size rubbers.

I'm with EA - try about 7 or maybe 6.45. Your track is not large enough to pull 5.4 I don't think plus it looks like your straight is uphill so you won't want to be to high geared

Yeah Heavy is right, 5.4 would more than likely be too much

Out of interest Heavy, has anyone run an X stock around Brendale yet? Any clues on gearing before the Nationals in November? I've been running at Littlehampton (hence the ratio ) which is roughly the same size as Brendale - very long and flowing in a stock tourer..

Default Epic X

Once this motor is properly setup the CE 20-25 amp numbers are similar to a monster. Leads us to believe they are really the same motor in black?

No Way. On the track they feel totally different, the X Stock feels much faster. Perhaps it makes similar numbers but they're in a more usable powerband..

Not too sure - I have only used mine at Bayside so far. Will try to find out about Brendale at some stage and let you know. I'd be thinking maybe around 6.

How do you guys think it would perform on an offroad truck? Like on a T4 or an MF2.

It will work fine in offroad. It might be a little better in buggy, but just gear it down for truck.
