I think we need to look more hard for a new layout on the chassis

Losi car is awesome for this rule..Most cars have lipo wt on r/s under battery..Losi I went from steel tray to plastic tray and was exactally 1422, That is with 42 grams of lead still on car......

I know I quoted myself, but the answer that I got was not exactly what I was looking for. My packs are like the ones in the link in the quote. With the packs I have will the leads clear the edges of the top plate? The only pictures I can find of the JRSX with Lipos in it are packs with a lead in each corner of the pack. Do you guys think my packs could fit in the JRSX?

I am running SMC batteries in the type R. The balnce tap and the power wires come out of the same corner of the battery. This fits the type R due to the "notches" in the front of the top plate. These notches can be dremeled a bit if need be for clearance. Actually the batteries pictured in the link would probably fit better than mine since the lead wires and balance tap are on opposite corners. Now for thickness or width I don't know on that particular battery but the wires should fit okay.

Excellent, thanks Bob. Actually one of may packs is an SMC as well. It's a thick bastard at almost 25mm. The Promatch that I have is a little thinner, so I'm sure it will fit. My hobby store can get me a JRXS for $309+ tax. I might just have to jump on that. I'm not sure I want another used kit, as you never know what small part you might not get with it and absolutely need.

I could take the weight off my car and run it at 1320 if you like.

Anyone have a 17.5 Redline/RS setup they'd like to share. I'm soldering tomorrow, the rest is already in the car. I'd at least like a ballpark starting gear ratio. I'm running a 118 spur and have a 43 tooth pinion in it. I'm thinking I need to drop the FDR just a little.
