hey guys i just thought id throw my opinion out ther on chassis flex i've been running the car since may and for about the last month i have removed the front two standoffs and cut my topdeck so that all the ears for the braces are gone and only use the rear braces to hold in the battery and i also cut some material off the topdeck in the rear for more flex and now it is the best car i have ever driven on asphalt so i think flex definately helps for rubber tire i am goin to the northwest carpet championships this weekend and will be running rubber tire carpet for the first time with this car so i will report back on monday what i find i expect to wax up though

you need the one for the type R, the old one has the diff gear on the opposite side so the oneway bearings would be reversed.

Ran the car for the second race weekend today. Cut the axles and NO broken parts all day. Made a couple more changes and lap times keep getting faster. Cool thing I've noticed though is that the car is extremely consistent and very forgiving. The track I ran at today uses Road Domes in certain turns and while most other cars are flipping or 2 wheeling WAY off line when they run over the edge of the domes... my Losi lifts the inner wheels but then nearly immediately flattens back out. Very forgiving. And the thing NEVER tweaks. VERY pleased with this car.

quick question about droop.

i was looking thrue the book as a guy at the track and i were talking about droop.

as i understood i thought that if you were to screw the droop screw down that it would give you more droop.which would make the car stiffer cause the screws will not let the chassi roll.he was telling me it was the opposite.

a little help please?

thx

we were originally talking cause my car while exiting the turn was rolling so hard it looked as if the car would like slow down right quick and almost stop.then it wouls take back off again.
so i thought if i were to run more droop that problem would go away.
i only have been running 1mm of droop over ride height front and rear.

People have come up with many different ways to measure droop. From this statement though it seems you are measuring it (as I do) as a product of extension over ride height. Using that method screwing the droop screw down gives you less droop.

If you are only running 1mm over ride height, I would certainly say that you are not gonna fix your problem with droop changes. Sounds to me like you may be sprung to soft.

You also might not have enough droop and you car is lifting the inside wheel. The car will diff out and you'll lose lots of forward bite, which might be why the car feels like it is slowing way down.

I have like 2.5 mm of droop (mesured like JKA). I'm now running 17.5 Front and 15 rear springs. Thats how my car perform the best on our med traction track. With softer spring my car was rolling to much an felt like it has less corner speed. Again this is with a stock motor...
