Exclamation STOCK MOTOR HELP

hey guys,

im running a stock tamiya silver can and all of a sudden it starts to squeek at a particular rpm (about half throttle), is the motor stuffed or is there a simple fix...

Bushings are dry, lube them up

sorry but im a n00b. would a spray of WD-40 help?

but it also vibrates, pretty bad, then at full throttle it runs smooth again. It does this is both forward and reverse

Dont use WD-40! Get some bushing oil from your LHS.

wd-40 will work but it wont last long and makes a mess

ok, i think i solved the problem, i just revved the motor at high rpm for a while and some dust or dirt came out....... thanks anyway

If its full of dust and crap it wouldnt hurt to waterdip it to clean it then dry and re-oil the bushings.
The vibration and noise you hear is the armature oscillating in the bushings because of lack of oil .

Are there any substitutes for bushing oil? I'm only asking 'cause I have a concauction of marvel mystery oil and mobil 1 engine oil to lube bearings. So it's like a cheap, long lasting alternative.
