Burbs,
If you talking of the Pit Mat from Upgrade R/C, I have one and it's nice. It's about 1/4 -3/8" thick, grooves and slots keep things from rolling off.
It's about 20"x30", plenty of room to work on.

Tres does awesome work, check out his website, and can also place your individual graphics in between the lexan.
