That was at Worlds I had a monster headache. Some people thought I was being one with the car

I have one reserved @ Burien when we get them in we ar doing our own 6hr in early May and I hope to have it and had some time to get used to it. You should come up for the enduro and regionals and race with Pete and I

I more than likely won't be able to make it up there for any TCS events Dan There are plenty of races down here to keep us busy. Don't worry about getting used to the BL, it'll take all of 2 packs to figure it out

Oh yeah, if I were in jland and had a monster headache, I'd have it "relieved" haha

black-knight: is the brushless motor fully sealed? no vents, holes, or anything that tiny pebbles can creep into?

Dan, are you atleast going to the Norca nationals? I'll probably be there if it doesn't conflict with the Reedy Race schedule.

Okay getting back to BL's, I'd recommend putting it in the 414M2. The evo3's front driveline may not be strong enough (for the time being) to put up with the power of a brushless. On the 414M2, I had the diff screw tightened all the way down and if I wasn't careful, I could slip them for about 10 feet, yikes!

It will be interesting to see how they class out eventually I have been watching the Aussie discussion also.

Norrca no Reedy I will be down for. TamiyaCon also if there are no conflicts with work I may be in Florida though

the only holes are the motor mounting screw holes, and only 1 bearing is exposed at the south end of the motor. So not much chance of anything getting into the motor at all.

yes ive been dreaming of bl motors for years

the motor is very very smooooooooth, brakes are as powerful as required and can be adjusted. BL powered touring cars are also very quiet on the track, i like quiet!

it seems in Australia we will go down the path of allowing BL's to run in with the traditional Modidfied class. I think they already do this in Thailand.

What's the current street price for the Novak BL, and does anyone have a release date on this motor yet.

I have seen the Novak BL run at Socal Raceway and it's FAST and SMOOTH. I WANT one.

Hi Everyone, I'd like to take some time to maybe explain a few things.

We have never had any "Cogging" problems. The problems the magazine guys had at the "press" day were releated a few very early software bugs but did not result in Cogging. I was there and am not sure what you are reffering too. Our motors have never been intended to compete against the 7 and 8 turn Brushed motors. It will holds it's own but is closer to a 10 turn as far as power goes.

We ran 4 Super Sport systems at the recent 4 hours of Tamiya Enduro with no failures at all. Super Sports Systems took the top two spots. The Super Sport is intended to be a sport based system, we will release a more powerful system in the future. (Sorry no time frame right now). Our next Brushless release will be a higher voltage system designed for Emaxx type applications.

We have run the motors in Offroad and Onroad, they work well in both conditions.

The motors are extremely smooth and linear. There is also a limited RPM profile for a "stock" type class or just for folks who want a little less power. With average 3300s we see between 9-11 minutes of runtime.

The following links will show a few different Enduro Race reports.

Default $hours of Tamiya results

Gentlemen;

Here are the results from the Tamiya 4 Hour Enduro:
POS Laps Name Motor

1 890 Team Novak Novak Supersport Brushless
2 880 Luck of the Irish Novak Supersport Brushless
3 844 Team Orion Orion Vortex 2 Brushless
4 832 Peak Racing Peak Brushed
5 804 Stone Houses Orion Brushed
6 791 Speed Tech RC Novak Supersport Brushless
7 784 Team Team Brushed Modified
8 759 Team Novak 2 Novak Supersport Brushless
9 624 Hacker Brushless Hacker Brushless
10 542 Team Last Minute Reedy Modified

I think the result speaks for itself. The Novak Supersport system worked flawlessly during the 4 hour event. There were no glitches or failures with the Novak systems in any of the A Main finalists cars. The same can't be said of the other brushless manufacturers.

Alain,
The Novak motors performed well, but so did the other brushless systems. The overall results show more about which teams had problems with their cars, not how the motors performed. The winning Novak team's car held together better than any other team's car. I think the only thing they had to change on the car other than battery packs was the right front tire.
