That's not true. The person you asked from that store is a liar or maybe a dumb#ss. The Helios is KO's current flagship transmitter. I'm sure it will stay in production for a long time.

The store probably got a better deal on another system and wants you to buy that system, unless there's a new version of the Helios coming out.

Not many stores will carry KO radios. It is very specialized and KO lacks a decent distribution network. Chances are if you go back to the shop to explain to them that it isn't discontinued, they still won't be able to order it for you. You best bet is to go to the KO website and look for KO dealers nearest you.

The only one discontinued is the Competition KO with all the hop ups. I know I've been trying to find one.
All the others are still out there.

there is no way it could have been discontinued, as said above that radio is one of the best radios you can buy

Sometimes certain distributers will stop carrying specific products, and then they will tell you it's been discontinued. I have had situations where they were just temporarily out of something, and their computer told them it was discontinued. Your hobby store is probably just repeating what the wholesaler told them.

I bought mine from KO's web sight, paid $179 without a module. That was perfect for me since I use spektrum anyway. You can also get a JR Z-1 which is the same radio with synthesized module. Yep, may not be the prettiest radio but feels so much better than the Futaba, Airtronics radios I had, and I'm not knocking the other brands, just a "fit" comparison.

I just don't understand how people can say the helios is an ugly radio. The 3PK looks like a radar gun, the M8/11 look like someone dropped the mold and broke it then just glued it back together wrong... The Helios is the best looking, best functioning and most comfortable radio out there IMO.

If you want to see an ugly radio, check out the Profi series...

owned an M8 before, always want to have it since they first came out, finally got a chance to bought a new one last year. i have high expectation of a 5 times radio of the year winner, especially with the big screen. unfortunately that big screen provide no extra info in comparison to KO Mars or Helios, and in terms of navigation i think helios has the upper hand with the scroll wheel. so after 6 months i switched to helios
