If I am not mistaken I think he is talking about a 4 cell stick pack for his gen x 1/12th scale car.

I've had a dream to find a lipo that would fit in that space too wally. I have seen a couple of 1/12th's lately that run the 4 cells side by side down the middle like the jrxs-r. Seems we should be able to find *something* lipoly that would put out enough power for a 1/12th and still fit.

Hey guys I'm tossing up between a Cyclone Surikarn and a Yokomo SD LCG and was wonder if either of those can fit the 3200?

I also have a MaxAmps 6000 and wonder if that will fit too?

Thanks.

Both the Orion pack and the Maxamps packs fit the Cyclone (got a 4800 in my Cyclone), both should fit the Yokomo too.

Mr. Black, a guy in my area was using an Ice to charge his Orion pack. He had the charger set to Li-on and not to Li-po. Could he have damaged the pack? He says he can now run the car for a minute and it slows. He said he did not have it on for long on the charger that way. I would think that Li-on is also CC-CV type of charging. I asked him to make sure it is not hte car. He said the voltage is 7.6 on the charger.

I race twice, sometime three time a week with um...

Last night I decided to see if the run time had started to drop off a bit because of wear and tear...

After timing the run , I got over 18 minutes run time !!!

The same amount of run time I got when these cells were brand new !!!

Their punch is as strong as ever !!!

I know if I had purchase 4200`s they would already started to degrade and be noticeably slower.....

Can`t tell you Orion boy`s just how much you have improved racing for me and anyone who purchases these cells....

Thank You !!!

We have never tried to charge using a Li-Ion charger so unfortunately I do not have data to approve or disprove that he could have damaged his cells however If he is capable of charging using LiIon then it is just as easy to of accidently at one time charged under NiMh setting which could have damaged the cells or caused thenm to go out of balance which it appears they have.

The Ice charger and those like it with a wheel selector make it easy to misprogram your charge settings. We find the majority of customers who have misshandled their charge settings to be using a wheel selecting charger.

I would recommend he check his cell voltage and balance using the methods outlined here:

The Li-Ion charge profile will not harm a li-po in any way. Instead of a lipo 4.2V/cell CC/CV profle, a Li-Ion charge profile will charge to 4.10V/cell CC/CV. A lipo will be approximately 80% charged under the Li-Ion profile and it won't be damaged. If the car is running for a minute, then something else is wrong.

THe ICE and these packs are a perfect fit. You put the settings in correctly, and theres pretty much no chance of "frying a pack". I've been using my ICE with my Orion 4800 for about 2 years now, and its never had a problem.

You said you were "gonna grab two for starters". Wrong idea. Your letting your NiMh history influence you. There is no, "for starters". There's only "gonna grab two". Thats it!

Once you grab those two, you'll have them for years and thats all you'll need. To tell you the truth, unless your running two cars, you really only need one pack. But many converts find that too hard to accept, so they at least get two.

But I wouldn't go past two...at most. You just don't need to.

Mr. Black: is it true that Orion 4800mah packs can now be charged at 2C rate? Does this apply to our current packs or its for some new packs comming out?
