this is for G.E.O
Step by spep guide for balencer conversion

be warned i went for a Trakpower balencer through charger 32.00 had a look & all the wires were red in the harness ,so that`s no good
looked at a Tornado balencer on it`s own 15.00 & it had 2 black, 2 red 1 little back one ,so this will be ideal with MrBlacks conversion

MrBlack
Mirage don`t have orion`s balencer over here (had a look, LHS also rang up)

so i`m going to print off the guide & take it to my LHS for them to set me up

I guess the only choice we have (the luxury of being a privateer, no doubt) is to use our feet and REFUSE to race at anything that's ROAR sanctioned. I'm glad I haven't given them any of my money.

Li-Po's will still be here as they have been in the past when ROAR did not allow it them.

Who knows this may force people to choose:

A. Run Li-Po's with my own clubs rules and enjoy the benefits or...

B. Run ROAR events and not Li-Po and enjoy that?

Maybe this will make thing's better in the long run?

It is unfortunate that many people will be forced to make this decision but it is what it is.

This poor decision on Roar`s part still will not stop me from buying Li-po and racing with them ...

It will only stop me from attending Roar events in the future....

I will still not buy one 4200 pack ...

The ball is back in Roar ex-com court....

If they what to ruin racing , they do it alone....

I think this could even be good thing for Li-Po development as unlike other battery technologies Li-Po will have no ceiling on what is can come up with. THis could lead to better quality and even lower costs in the long run. I think many developments have been put on hold waiting for ROAR's decision and now we are free to design even more innovative products without worry of making anyone happy except you the consumer.

Ive started running with 2 of these Lipos a couple of weeks ago at my club and I think they are definatly the future. They work out cheaper to run (I can manage with only 2 packs instead of 4) less hassle and if they live upto to the the hype of how long they last I will not be lagging behind other drivers at my club who dont have to buy their cells or can aford to replace them a lot more frequently than me.
I think a couple of reasons why they will not get supported by the govening bodies is because a lot of matchers (especially small ones) will loose out and because at the moment a lot of people still think they ar unsafe and wont face up any battery can be dangerous.

Default Late to race.

I have trouble getting through traffic coming from work to race on week nights.

However with a charged LiPo, I have a fresh pack to run for practice as soon as I get there rather than wait for my batteries to charge. Also after I am done with practice, I can bump the battery back up again to race my first qualifier all while I am still charging my NiMh for the second qualifier.

Really! LiPo can make racing convenient and easy.

My kids and I aren't racing for now, mostly organized bashing. At least the local club allows lipo for all races when I get back to it. With 4 cars I couldn't hope to keep up with nimh maintenance. I've got 7 platinums now and will never go back to the BS of nimh. I won't have to deal with them over the winter or buy new ones for the next season either. This is the same reason I went brushless for all 4.

MrBlack
still got probs in trying to get a balencer wired up for my pack

balencer over here have different wire configurations in the harness that is different from yours (can`t work out which one is the balencer wire & which might be the negative charge lead ) can`t afford to get it wrong

Mirage are a waste of time & i`m seeking help from the states ,what is going on here
no orion balencer here

Q) if the plat has 2 s 2 p setup
how does the balencer sense the voltage in the parralell configuration ??

if it can`t then these 2 cells will stay out of balence no matter what,

in series no probs

another question MrBlack
on your step by step guide to build one can you move the `step 3` logo over a bit to see how the wires come out of the harness on your conversion

MR JOLLY
This is how I have mine wired up. I tried to spread the wires so you can identify. If anyone notices I did it wrong, feel free to correct.
