i use a 6.5 and use about 1700mah, around another 400mah is useabale before it would go below 6v. so if u can resist doing warmup laps, then you may just be ok

Not yet, but have thought about getting a trakpower balancer 'cause they have the same balance port to the orions.

While Im here, i have a mamba 4600, orion 3200, i had it on auto cut-off. usually when it gets low, you can hear it power down and eventually the cut-off kicks in. the last few runs i have noticed, when its close to powering down, it stuttered, then it just cut-off. Do you think me lipo needs a balance, or its the esc? I have my cut-off now set at 6V...

The TrakPower balancer looks like it's a Hyperion LB6 already wired for the Orion/TrakPower style balancing. Orion's SBS also seems to be based on the LB6 (lots of balancers are), but you have to make a connector for it.

If you get a balancer based on the LB6, you can buy harnesses for it that work with just about style of pack.

I also have a few questions about lipo before I consider switching.

I presume the Duratrax Ice is capable of charging such batteries. What charge rate would you reccommend for charging?

I normally run down at a Hobbytown Race and we have 2 qualifiers and 1 main. The qualifers are 4 minutes each and the main is 5 mins. So in total its 17 minutes of racing plus practice so about 25-30 mins total.

Would this Orion 3200 be able to run on a single charge or would you reccommend charging in between runs?

The ICE charger is fine (that is what I use). Just set it to LiPo mode 7.4V and the capcity to 3200mah.

As soon as I finish a race, I put it on the charger. Just put it straight on. It is too easy!!!

It is best to charge between races as you don't want to over discharge them.

Has anyone tried using one of the Much More battery warmers? I hear these batteries are at peak performance at 100F. I don't want to lug around a bunch more stuff, but I am curious. Any advantage I might find...you know......just curious.

Well, I ordered the warmer setup to experiment with on these batteries and some nimh I use in my 12. I'm stuck going to the caribbean next week so after that I'll play around with it. I try posting some results on here, noticable or not.

This Question has probably been asked but : I just got an Ice Charger and a 3200 Peak lipo. I wanted to get a balancer but the hobbyshop said the pack did not need one. However I did notice last night that here is a small hole that says equalizing. So what type of balancer do I need to get and will it go inline .Or what will I have to do to make one go in line (if possible?) I previously had a 4800 that would not fit in my TC.So it's been several weeks trying to get all this stuff together and fitting into the car (RDX PHI).The 3200 are still a tight fit but it will work. Another question is it safe to plug the ESC directly into the battery.I plan on making a pig tail to keep the esc wired and a plug to charge the battery. I'll never have to remove either plug.I've ordered the Corally plugs that fit the batteries.
