GM-Racing broke only 8 speedos and three rotors with all drivers (privat and sponsored), no 40 pcs.
This is a small amount, when you saw, that all GM-Racing drivers did use brushless in rain without any extra boxes, like others. The speedos were only prepared with silicon on Thursday on the track and all of them broke only because of the water situation.

I think much more servos and receivers did not work.

Team Orion broke only one magnet after a crash and no speedo, but they didn't drive in rain with brushless, except of Hupo Hönigl.

I think Craig needed about 7 speedos and/or motors for himselve.

Sakke Ahoniemi smoked, well, melted two GM systems down.
Here is the first one.

Will the Orion one be waterproof? Thats the biggest thing stopping me from changing from my current ESC.

@ Anders Myrberg:

Right, Sakke blow three and our Belgium guy two of the 8 pcs.. I think they made something wrong.
(F. e.: Using sensors in rain or with wet motor. We drove without sensors in rain. Sakkes motor was still wet even when I opened it yesterday, 4 days after the Euros!)

I brought only 14 pcs. of the GM-Genius 95 to the European championship, and I brought 3pcs. brand new back and three are doing their job in the cars very well. I think much more were used, see material list of the organizer.

How many LRP speedos blow up? Do you have such nice pictures of this ones?

I saw plenty on Retos table and I saw LRP/Novak and the brushed people did have to use nice boxes in the rain.

How many brushed speedos, receivers and servos blow up? I saw much more of them also.

It's very easy to bring the speedo to the GM pit table on Thursday and say:
- make it waterproof.
I remember in the ealier days, the drivers had to make their cars waterproof themselve.
Silicon does need 24h and in the afternoon, even before the silicon was completely hard all of them where used.

Must admit i can only be positive about the Brushless system from GM. I ran the 4.5 motor with the older Genius 80 ESC at the Euros in Germany. It did have a slight issue picking up out of the hairpin onto the straight in practice. However, after Ralf told me to change the capacitors on it the problem went away.

I did have one of the Rotor failures in my car, and i know of one of the others. They weren't full on magnet explosions that i have seen before from some other brushless runners - and i'm sure there were a few brushed armature failures during the week!!!

As has been said, we were told to run them in the rain, but without the sensors. I was a little concerned about this advice i have to admit, i mean conventional wisdom says that without the sensors brushless suffers from poor feel ect - and in the rain you need to be able to be very smooth with the throttle. I must admit i have seen this from some other manufactures of sensorless systems. However, i ran it without the sensors with no problems at all, the feel was still there, almost the same.

Anything about the release date? I mean is it worth to wait for it or it's not gonna be around for a while.

Any word on the ESC? Is it any better than the LRP? Does it have a voltage cut-off for lipo-s?

I think the Orion system will be out soon. This will be the easiest one to get.

The GM system is out now but GM is not distributed in the US and they seem to want to try to sell direct from Germany to the US .

Excuse me MR. Howart, buttop Assocaited team drivers like Drescher use the Novak brushless systems, and Craig Dreshcer and Associated were the 2005 Reedy race champions, over all invite drivers, which are the best in the world.

Do you have any clue what you're talking about? Rick was only referring to the worlds that took place recently, and only about the GM/Orion drivers having the choice. As far as Top Associated guys go please read the thread labeled where does Rick Howart go next.By the way Drescher ran Brushed motors when he won in 2005 this past year he did run brushless and ran very well when they weren't shutting down on him.

We have spoken to GM. The ad is a little misleading. Let just say that untill GM changes how they want to do things in the US no one significant will want to distribute their products.

Let's just say I've dealt with a few German companies and I'm not surprised about what you say

It dosen't matter...Orion will be the place to get them from in the US. From what I hear Orion has tweaked a bunch of stuff in their versions of the speedo and motors so their stuff is what you will want to get.
