I race on road electric, but off road vintage is my passion. Kyosho scorpion 1984, chain drive kyosho optima 198....something (still working on), and the best toy I could ever dream, the all mighty MOUNTAINEER...... Metal kits are so nice.... I wish on road cars of that time period were as detailed as off road cars, they are some very nice bodies, like the lambo or the porsche 934 turbo, but chassis are not very detailed. Well, thats only my opinion.

Hey guys, if you are interested, we have a really nice little forum community for vintage collectors (mostly American off road, and mostly Associated) to be found at www.rc10talk.com. It's a great little group, and we're not just limited to RC10s. Most of us collect a lot of other items, as well. Some of the collections will blow you away.

Also, I'm trying to find some free time to get my vintage site launched at www.vintagerccars.com. I have some content and a layout, I just need to find some time to get it all out of my head and onto a web site. It's been there for a while, just too many irons in the fire right now...

I very much sold all my teenage RC cars like Hotshot, frog, grasshopper dogfighter, Yankee, Mini-Mustang 2-speed, Mugen Aero's, Mugen Templus, AYK Road runner, 101, 201....etc

But still have the Kyosho Optima Mid Special (top of the line version)...AYK Radient with 2-speed, AYK Boxer with 2-speed........and last year, finally got my childhood DREAM car............Tamiya Bruiser, car was built but never ran...with Futaba 3-channel radio. $200 with a BAD paint job. I think I will spend the next 10-20 years to rebuild her..............

My current project is collecting parts for a replica of a highly modified RC10 that I raced in 1988 or so—MIP diff, Houge trailing arm rear suspension, Composite Craft graphite and a lot of other parts that never came from Associated. It's a long, slow (and expensive) process, but everything shows up on eBay eventually.

On my list for the future are:

~ '87-'88 Schumacher Cat (short wheelbase or long wheelbase) (GOT TWO)
~ '83-'84 RPS Yokomo Dogfighter
~ original Losi JRX2 (GOT ONE)
~ '88 Big Boys Toys/ASCOT sprint car (GOT ONE)
~ original Associated 12L (graphite) (GOT ONE)

I donno about you guys, but I'm a sucker for NOS cars and parts.

Never thought that there would be an interest in vintage R/C stuff! So I guess that this is now worth a bunch of $$$???

If anyone is interested, it's hanging on my shop wall just like it came off the track in '89. Optima Mid SE with SRS stretch chassis. I think there's still a Quarter Flash 12t in it too.

I purchased one of the first electric rc motorcycles. It came about the same time as the OG Tamiya sand scorcher. around '85. I still have the original box and radio. it is in fair shape, probably just needs new batteries. the driver has a cloth riding suite. the fairing was lexan. Back then I didn't have a clue about painting lexan and painted it with ename paint. it flakes off easily.

I threw out the sand scorcher, (it was in various bits and pieces.) little did I know it would be worth something later.

Yes, this is a Kyosho car. Some minor differences though, mostly the box!
Values are always subjective.
It's worth what someone will pay for it.
Sorry if that sounds vague. One of the best ways to get a good idea though is to search completed items that are similar on E-Bay.

Great cars though, I have one as well as its brother the Beetle !
I love them.

I forgot to mention that I've got a complete as it was last run many years ago Bolink California Flyer(1/10th pan car). At the Last On-road nationals at the Ranch Pit stop. It came as close as Bolink ever did in winning a national title. The battle between Cliff Lett(the winner) and Rick Hohwart (I believe driving for Bolink) crashed and the rear body wing got caught in the Bolink and that was it with about 1 minute left in the race. This is my car that I drove at that race.

Thanks! Did anyone catch the Kyosho Gallop Mk 2 on rctvlive.com the other day? I looked on ebay to see if there were any. Not a one. I bet that gets some big $ for one in good condition. Bullfrog do you have pics of your rides?
