1 & 2 -> Can't help... won't have my EVO III for another week or two.
3. Use 9550 on my 414m2 and love it (but not the price)

Default my setup

White tamiya spring/ 70 weight oil/3 hole piston
Shock all the way out on tower/yellow swaybar
Arms spaced two in front 1 in rear of arm.
Camber link Lower inner hole.
Sorex 28/Hpi red
Suspension blocks flat on chassis

Tamiya Blue/55 weight oil/3 hole piston
Shock 2nd whole in from the end of tower/Red sway
Arm spaced 2 in back /1 In front of arm
Raised suspension blocks{roll center} with 2mm spaces front and rear
Camber link in Lower inner location on the tower.
Sorex 24/Hpi reds.

I like this setup for carpet and for asphalt you may wanna lighten up the springs.Blue front/Yellow rear.

Hope this helps.I am running the 9550 and its the ****!
