Nope. You could put the ribbed endbell on there, but that's only going to save you a little bit of weight, it won't affect the performance of the motor.

3 different color of heat sink for your 13.5 for 3 different way to show off your "BLING BLING"..........(just kidding....for me, I don't find it necessary to use the sintered rotor yet...)

My story is like this....the 3 race day that I had my 13.5....I don't have any thermal issue, cause I was undergear the first day, then the 2nd and 3rd day I was right on. Then I gear it to the moon, and it thermal on me after 8 minutes hard on racing with foam on carpet...so if I back down 1 tooth or so, and stop running after 5 minutes, then I will never need the sintered rotor anymore. I was kinda testing the limit (temperature) on the 13.5 in purpose, gunning the car a lot, hard sliding the corner, heavy braking....the whole nine yard, just to make sure the motor reach 150 degree or so....at least, right after it thermal, I temped the motor....it read 151 degree or so...with no heatsink nor fans on the motor.

However, if you can spend the extra $30....buy it. Then you don't need to worry about gear it too high...(unless you are being crazy but getting 1:1 ratio). For me...I think I will buy one cause I can use it for indoor carpet (stock 13.5 or 4300) then use it on my 4.5 outdoor summer....

It is all about the gearing...it is not about the which car it is on.

two questions for the resident experts in this forum

1) is it okay to cut the sensor wires on the motors? I've heard a few rumors that pretty much end in two conclusions: "Go ahead and cut them" and "Don't cut them EVER."

2) do I need to use the GTB's supplied capacitor with the 13.5 motor? You know, the beer keg of a cap. I would like to use the small cap that is included with the LRP worlds kit, mostly because it is 1/20th the size and 12th scales don't have a lot of landscaping area for electronics.

hello, without going through a billion posts, I just put a 13.5 in my FT TC3. The TC3 has a 72T 48P spur gear, what pinion should I be running?

Obviously, Im not Joe Serious when it comes to carpet racing, just waiting for spring but I do well and really enjoy it. I dont know the "rollout" or anything like that and my tires are new and I dont true them down to any particular size.

thanks for the input.

NE1 out there using the AstroFLight 109 charger with the Astroflight Blinky balancer? I was thinking of getting that charging set up .... or the Hyperion5 charger and hyperion balancer. So any thoughts on either of these??

I took a break from racing 4300 and dropped down to using the 13.5 in stock. What kind of rollout are you guys using (foam, carpet, medium track) with the sintered rotor? I got it up to about 44mm (that's not a typo) last night before it started feeling fast, and I think it needs more. I'm about to buy up some 87T spur gears and 50T pinions!

I've been running about 38mm. I would consider our track relatively tight though. I guess I'll have to try even higher.

I'm using LiPo, which seems to affect how you gear motors just a little bit. Still, even at 44, I felt like I was a tad slower than the brushed guys. I've gotten so used to the speed and rip of the 4300, though, I may just need some time to adjust. That motor just has too much torque, I couldn't keep my diffs from slipping without making them too tight, and it was making the car handle like crap. Things were much nicer with the 13.5.

Syndrome...What did you roll out the 4300 at on carpet with foams? Getting ready to do some testing to see how it works for me. Did you have the sintered or stock rotor in it?

Sintered rotor, around 32.5 to 34mm. I think with the stock bonded rotor, 28.5 feels about right.
