You already have a top of the line esc capable of winning a world championship.

1st have you read the instructions?

2nd why do you think a small esc is not as good? All of the top esc's are small excluding Tekin.

My quantum 2 isnt as fast as other peoples car's. i got new batteries and geared the car up, and had a new motor, and my car wasnt as fast as a persons non geared up car.

so it leads me to think that my speedo is no good?

Don't blame your speedo for a slow car. Tune the motor and gear it correctly. Just because you gear up doesn't mean your car will necessarily go faster.

I agree.

myk505,

If you're running brushed motors, then the VFS-1 doesn't need much explanation. It has been proven for a couple of years now and have won many national and world championships already. The KO Propo VFS-1 comes in different sub-brands. Such as Hara Twister, Rayspeed, Corally, Masami, Volac, etc. Either of any will do. As long as the model is VFS-1 Pro or Competition. It's a very good choice that you won't regret.

What car, motor, gearing, batteries are you running?

Did you read the esc MANUAL?

For Modified racing, LRP v7.1 is still one of the best IMO. Sure its big, but it doesn't hit temp cut, doesn't overheat at all, never blows up and performs just as well as its newer counterparts.

Yeah, but what motor? Gearing? Brushes and springs? Usually the brushes that come from the factory suck.

Either way, the KO is the way to go. It's small, but still can handle as much power as you throw at it. I would even use the VFS-2000 over any LRP or Novak esc I have used.

Yeah that sucks, did they try to tell you it was your fault for hooking it up wrong? This happened to a friend of mine, the thing blew up four and a half minutes into a race.

ESC's don't send a constant current to the motor, it is pulsed. The rate at which it is pulsed is the drive frequency. So a higher drive frequency means that it cycles more times per second. A lower drive frequency gives more power with lower runtimes, and vice versa. The VFS-1 Pro has 32 throttle steps with 64 different frequency settings (0.9 - 12kHz) for each throttle step. So instead of having the same frequency set throughout the throttle curve, you can adjust for more "punch" off the line and out of corners (mid-range) and increase the frequency for smoother top speeds.

You can also adjust neutral brake, frequency of the brake, BEC voltage setting (2.5V-4.0V), throttle response, and current limiter.
