I know I cut of the plug and soldered the motorwires direct to the esc and no more cogging!

Hey guys, I am looking into the Mamba Max and it's looking more appealing than the GTB since I've read that this ESC doesn't have many heat problems, is programmable AND has a reverse profile.

I was pretty sure but wanted to check if this ESC takes both brushed and brushless?

Also how different does this ESC perform compared to the GTB, has anyone had any experience with both?

thanks!

I have both. Prefere the mamba. Smaller, way easyier to switch from Brushless to Brushed.

Only prob, It cog a little at start with my Novak 13.5 (sensored). So I still use the GTB for sensored motors.

If you plan at running the mamba motor, thats esc is simply awesome.

I am pretty sure the 13.5 is the equivalent for a 27T, not sure about the 19T though.

Ahh! So many things to buy!

10.5 is equivalent to a 19T. Your stuck with Novak or Orion, LRP doesn't make a 10.5 for some odd reason.

None of the Mamba's spec out to 19T or 27T...they are not race legal except open or mod class.

Castle should make a software for pocket PCs/PDA. Even a small laptop is quite big (and expensive) to bring to the races.

She's a little dusty. My Vortex arrived the other day, i have hardwired it to the esc. Timing on motor is 0 (center). Settings on Mamba Max are default except for a few, so ill have to post an image later. I used mooony's wiring setup (red wire -> C, black wire -> B, white wire -> A). Using 8.35FDR & Orion/Peak 3200 lipos & Spektrum DX2.0.

After a 20min drift run. Hearing the majority of mm/vortex ppl having stuttering & cogging issues, i was certain this was going to happen to me. For me though, no stuttering at all, ran as smooth as a babies bum. no cogging at low/mid/high throttle. I kept feathering the throttle to see if it would, this thing basically ran flawlessy!! Very very impressed with my MM/Vortex 7.5 combo!!

How about software so you can program the esc through a Playstation Portable. When you are not programming or racing you can play a game or watch to a movie or listen to music on the track.

PDA software would be a good idea as plenty of people use PDA's to link into race conrtrol's wireless network

also my phone is kinda like a PDA so software that ran on winows mobile6 would be awesome

Default Mamba review

The 7700 Mamba Max is awesome power, I have one in a 1/10 Tamiya Mini Cooper. The only challenge I have found is keeping the tires on the ground. Man hole covers and bots dots are sure death at sppeds over 45+.
