4hr Enduro Race (Feb 15) at Tamiya HQ
#31
This is an exerpt from the Tamiya Track's "Unofficial" website:
02.08.03 It's getting serious!
It’s going to be the biggest little race of the year, what started out as a fun little weekend warrior bash is quickly becoming one of the hot on-road events for the local pros. I’m talking about the 4 Hours of Tamiya which is going on this Sat.
Yes it’s on Sat. so the track will be closed this weekend for normal practice. But if you do not have an enduro team lined up I would suggest showing up and watching some of the best drivers on the world tear off the laps for four hours. We are talking some serious names. Here is a list of some of the drivers who have confirmed they will be racing: Rick Hohwart, Brian Kinwald, Mike Truhe, Brian Dunbar, Travis Amezcua, Derek Furtani, Tyree Phillips, Chris Tosolini, Ryan Cavalieri, Joe Pillars, Rich Trujillo, Jukka Steenari, Greg Hodapp, and of course TTLocal Dave Jun. There are many other names that haven’t confirmed but have shown great interest and are just trying to fit it in their schedules and build a team.
The forecast calls for rain most of the week so it shall be interesting to see how they deal with a farley green track. A suggestion for those watching from the sidelines bring a stop watch and take some lap times as this will give you an excellent look into the capabilities of what Tamiya car can do. For those entered, remember 4 hours is a long time and driving over your head will just cause your team to drop further down the leader board. Good luck to all, see you on Saturday.

update: no Kinwald Rumor has it Trinity won't let any of their boys come play. What are they afraid of?

I welcome pros racing! It will be a cool thing to have the opportunity to run with them.
But it dawned on me the other day when a friend of ours just turned pro and with the sponsorship he has to run the sponsors products as part of the deal. So, this said since Kinwald's main sponsor is Losi and they are a car manufacturer and part of Tamiya's rule for the Enduro is to run a Tamiya only car, and if the rumor is true that he will no longer be participating....maybe this is why!

Hehehe okay whatever you say Shortbus. Wow, the Footwork avatar is much better. It suits you fine Mr. National Champ.
As far as preparations go, I just rebuilt the Reedy 12T with enduro brushes and my teammates rebuilt their P94 12T's with enduro brushes as well. And because of a miscommunication, we have a whole bunch of fresh tires to run Hopefully we can make the Amain so that we can destr..errrr I mean use all of our equipment.

Hello gentlemen and Tom, I think we're ready for this weekend. All I'm concerned is that our team puts in one banzai lap in the two five minute qualifiers. I don't care who it is.
However, sitting on top of the B wouldn't be all to bad.

rtypec do you have your set of rain tires ready?

How about HPI Xpatterns for wet and HPI Advans for intermediates lol.
I think the weather calls for cloudy skies on Saturday but meteorologists are always wrong.

Oh man... we're all hoping it doesn't rain... our entry's already too loose to begin with... we'll be working on the car the whole morning and probably maximize the early practice session. No secrets here... we just want to have fun, (and probably have one fast lap to move us up... *crossing fingers*)
