i would wait until game time before calling anything. sandbaggers delight! and i thought they were suppose to change the track a good percentage? this looks like the track that's been there since the off-road event unless i am mistaken..

From the posted pics it looks like they're racing in reverse direction to the worlds warmup.

So true, They might even make room if needed for masami.
looks like he had the fastest sesion and fastest single lap so i would say he will have a good chance to TQ.

Sorry if someone has already asked this, but what is the story with the new Orion endbells?

If they're the same as what was run at the Reedy race, the new endbells have a hole in it that accepts the Twisted Gold Connectors. This would help reduce the likelihood that one of the motor leads would become unsoldered due to excessive heat.

Chris,

The deal with the new end bell is that the normal orion brush was not holding up to the heat and breaking power needed for the track in Italy. So what Orion did was allow their new end bell to accept Checkpoint brushes after a few minor adjustments. So what you are seeing is an orion motor with Checkpoint brushes at an angle. I am sure Orion has changed things around since they noticed this problem, I know they want to win a WC on their own stuff not Checkpoints. BTW I am not trying to bash anyone or anything.

Monti,

Have you even seen this endbell. I have seen two of them. I hope they get released soon.

Masami through down the fastest time in practice, but several drivers put down similar lap times. Here are the fastest drivers from the fourth round of practice before it began to rain. Some drivers may have had faster times in earlier rounds, but the track was definitely the fastest the fourth round.

driver/country/time/fastest lap

1) Masami Hirosaka (JPN) 16 5:00.670 (18.528)
2) Leino Teemu (FIN) 16 5:02.430 (18.589)
3) Viktor Wilck (SWE) 16 5:02.459 (18.662)
4) Jilles Groskamp (NLD) 16 5:02.501 (18.650)
5) David Spashett (GBR) 16 5:03.028 (18.618)
6) Thomas Pumpler (AUT) 16 5:03.873 (18.693)
7) Andy Moore (GBR) 16 5:05.654 (18.639)
8) Marc Rheinard (DEU) 16 5:05.722 (18.779)
9) Chris Tosolini (USA) 16 5:06.370 (18.839)
10) Mark Pavidis (USA) 16 5:06.540 (18.673)
11) Rick Hohwart (USA) 16 5:06.870 (18.802)
12) Juho Levanen (FIN) 16 5:07.275 (18.764)
13) Peter Pinisch (AUT) 16 5:07.476 (18.601)
14) Ralp Burch (USA) 16 5:08.145 (18.668)
15) Adam Rogers (GBR) 16 5:08.619 (18.837)

Notes
Billy Easton (18.541) and Matt Francis (18.822, round 3) were both fast in practice, but did not finish their heats in round four. Ralph Burch's 16 5:08 was with a five second crash, so he should be in the mix with the top guys tomorrow.
Other Americans: Paul Lemieux, Jon Orr, and Kyle Skidmore ran 16 5:09s in the fourth round. Josh Numan ran a 16 5:10.

this was pulled from radiocontrol zone forum. they also have additional pics.

To add to what Gary said, they're also machined to allow as much cooling as possible. And yes, the connectors are dialed

Checkpoint brushes?

Derek, what's up? Nice to see you logged onto the intraweb and congradulations for the win.
