I think noone from the manufacturers wants to get quoted shortly before the Worlds on such a delicate issue!
For sure there is going to be discussions at the race about legal & illegal magnets since some manufacturers do not seem to have the same understanding of the word "bonded" then others...

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to the event and now I've to get back to prepare everything. See some of you guys soon in Italy!

this worlds is going to be one of the most interesting for me to see if brushless technology will be competitive at the highest level kind off like the orion V2 when it was first introduced.

The word "bonded" was a mistake in the first set of brushless rules regarding BL Rotors. Bonded and Sintered magnets cost the same to produce but the Sintered magnets are 100x more durable and maintain magnetic strength 100x longer.

All the brushless manufacturers are unanimous in wanting to fix this error in the rules and have all submitted this request to all santioning bodies.

I've heard that they are going to use the Road Rail system for 1/12 scale. Have they used this in past worlds ?
Thanks.

Please, don't speak for others Adrian! Especially if you don't know all the details!

I will make a statement than: any Team Orion or Peak driver that will use brushless will use an EFRA of IFMAR legal bonded magnet. And not a pressed or sintered one. Anyway, for the Turin track you do not need any 'special or illegal' magnets...

I know for ifmar and and efra has thier rules but as a customer i hope companies don't release 2nd rate sytems to the public just because it doesn't conform with ifmar rules. If the bonded magnet is 2nd rate and the sintered magnet is better I hope thats an option for the consumer even if it is not allowed for a race that 99% of the poeple racing in this hobby will not participate in.

@OJ: glad to hear you will play by the same rules as we do. Looking forward to the race, see you Friday!

@PW: you mean your mail from yesterday? Got that, but couldn't reply today. Sorry

@Anders: your boy was a good help for me tonight, safed me one more long hour of work.
He seems to fit in well so far, in case he didn't let you know yet...

@Francis: true, but it's obviously important to play by the rules and recently there has been a lot of "uncertainty" in regards of magnets. But probably (and hopefully!) there will be good talks at the Worlds about how the rules should be further refined.
