The word is getting out on these cars that's a fact! With all that building I don't see how you have time to do those cool paint jobs. Since his last post about shipping his frame GT40 put a sleeping bag and cooler on his front porch and has not moved since. Either fix the camera or I will order one of those bodies and declare it vintage legal with the 35 year date on it! Round three is this Saturday and I will be driving the 4wd at Calhoun . I will do everything I can to keep from turning it into a kit again. Just kidding, I think the racers there are going to LOVE this car. I will put some lesser batteries in it after the race and let them take a few laps to check it out...SALES! Hey if it sells three or four cars can I get a kickback on this? I need a little set of eyeballs to put on the helmet visor. (Bloodshot of course with a bit of panic for realism) See Ya!

You are right mxrich, I'm on my porch right now looking for that darn UPS man! You're just lucky I won't have it in time for this weekend's race. The old stock Tamiya F201 will be making it's last (hopefully!) appearance. I'm going to bring the HPI F1 along alsoas a back up car just in case. Actually, the old stock F201 has been a ton of fun too but it looks like a toy compared to your MLP. Well, in the end I guess they are all toy cars, that's why they are so fun!

NEVER bring a backup!!! Put somebody on that HPI thing and have them making laps! That way if they beat you with your car you can reposess it and deny everything...like that Clinton guy.

6 hours just on bodies? JEEZ, the only way I could do that was if I worked at the Mustang Ranch

Well most people that order a roller also order a body but I sell more pre-painted bodies than anything else

I didn't get into this to do bodies but Owell I like doing it.

at times it can get old like if you get 4 or 5 orders in a row for the same body OMG! That gets old!

like right now I have orders for a Honda, 2 McLarens, 3 RedBulls, and a BMW Sauber.

and that would also give me 6 hrs for the family like cooking spending time with them and sleep so what is the one that I get less of

Sleep

I have an HPI Super F1 (see below) and a F201...I've been looking at these MLP parts and I'm very impressed...

when I put my F201 together with all the stock parts and the stock silver can motor... it was a slippery, slow, and unfriendly dog... so I put it away for shelf queen duty... my HPI SUper F1 is fast, handles like it's on rails with Jaco foams

When I get around to it I'm going to pull out my F201 and put the HPI Vintage wheels/tires or the Type A Tamiya tires on it and throw in my Mamba Max motor and see what it can really do... I've seen that these cars have a lot of potential that I didn't take time to explore (I have more than 45 RC vehicles and right now I'm racing RC bikes)

There are some guys on the formula1-rc.com forum that are doing some speed test with the F201 but others have warned them about the stock diff and gearbox exploding. On the Tamiya site I think they went down to a 13T motor to get the same laptimes as the F103 D-drive w/ stock. Yes the HPI is a rocket, I have two of them. The MLP 4wd is so different form the Tamiya F201 they are not even compared to each other that I know of. The new MLP 2wd is being sold now and the reports are it's a land missle. MLP is also coming out with a D-drive soon if not already. So many choices, I guess the best thing to do is get one for different tracks. Around here there are not that many big tracks so we have the 4wd's race with 19T and the 2wd's run stock. It seems to work about right for laptimes.

So what's the difference between 2wd and 4wd? Is it just that 4wd is easier to drive, and also slower?
