Stock is the most expensive class to run competatively. No other class eats motors and brushes faster than stock.

19T and Mod motors last forever and the XXX brushes (19T) or CS, Reedy, Infinity brushes (Mod) that all the fast guys run in them last for 15-20 runs before dropping off power wise.

Guys don't run mod because its hard. It takes more setup skill and driving skill to run in the mod class. Most guys just don't want to put in the effort necessary to be a Mod driver so they stay in stock.

There is more than just motor costs to look at however. Tire wear is increased with Mod. There also is a much higher wear rate on parts, suspension parts, diffs, etc.

Fact is... its expensive to be competitive regardless of the class.

No truer words have been spoken. Even if the factory guys were out of stock the slow guys would still be slow. We have some pretty hard core non sponsored stock and 19T guys around here.

It would seem that part of the problem is that everyone wants to win. Life says that someone must loose and no one wants to be the LOOSER!

That's not true, some people set up their cars that way intentionally. How's that saying..."Loose is fast"?
