Default M8> M11 spektrum Q...

How do you convert the M8 spektrum to an M11.... ????

Dont you have to just drill an extra hole somewhere?

It has to be sent in, there is a software update also.
The M11 has a lot longer "bootup" time than the M8, with that long delay the spektrum does not work properly.

You can drill two holes right beside the existing holes. There is nothing behind the board or on the board where you have to drill. Just be careful so you don't go through the case when you go through. Using a pin vice or something similar would be best.

When you do this, the unit will still work. You just have to press the enter button on the M11 everytime you turn it on. bit of a pain but at least you don't have to send you're unit in.

And yes, I have done this and I have been using it this way almost since the M11 came out.

Just depends on how steady your hands are. You could make a slot with a dremel if you really want to. There is not a risk as long as you take your time. If you're not comfortable doing it, send it in, but there is really nothing to worry about. I was on the phone to Horizon and they told me how to do it.
