Default prep for 45 minute mains

I've only raced twice so I don't know what to bring for a 45 minute main. It's just club racing so I don't need any fancy stuff.

Wow, 45min mains.

Having only done a 30min stint in an enduro, I can only assume this is what you may need.

- Charged Batteries
- Pitcrew to change the batteries
- Chair to sit on while driving (Ok, not really necessary )

Apart from that, I don't know. I have never heard of a club running 45 min electric mains, only 45min nitro mains. Are you sure that the electrics run 45 min mains, and not 3 x 5 min finals.

And gear down the motor a bit, so it does not run as hot... put a softer spring in the motor...

oops Forgot to mention its a 540 stock motor race. It's a parking lot race so sitting isn't an option. The "pit area" is where we're standing so we pit the cars ourselves. I've already raced twice. I just need some advice to help make the runs smoother and faster.

That sounds kinda cool.... If you gear the car right with a silver can motor you can probably make the whole 45 min without a battery change...

45 min electric race, dude that motor will be absolutely done after. id have about 6-8 batts ready, a couple motors( with clips on the motor wires and the esc wires, for faster motor changes,)

and GEAR DOWN

-use "locktite" on all the screws so the car doesnt fall apart during the 45 minutes! especially the motor mounting ones.

-get a cordless drill, with the proper bits for the nut, and change wheels like nascar really fast! lol

-gear it down , as everyone has said

-reduce the dual rates, so you dont scrub off speed through the turns, and for a better line.

-get some of those 2000 mah nimh AA batteries to put in your transmitter, not those cheep 700 mah nicad sanyo's. charge them before the event.

i thought the lower the charge rate, the longer it would go? well, if i were you i would charge so the batts go for endurance rather than speed. if you have lipo batteries, use them if you can! though, i wouldnt be suprised if they arent allowed.

i wish there were an event like that at my lhs, sounds like fun.
good luck!!!

The last race I went to, my stock TA-05 ran pretty well. I was in second untill I had to pit cause the pinion and spur gear were making a funny noise. Right before the race was over. Oh well the car is my top priority. Not the race.
