If you know anyone that could use a "ZPrinter 310 Plus" from www.zcorp.com then the molding part should be quite easy if you have it in CAD

Great work SammyXp

I too would like to see these style of bodies available.

Heres a pic of first on road it's a Tamiya Nissan (can't remember what model) from about 20 years ago.

Cheers

Well here is a picture of ours with the Tamiya body
we are making a full suspension car for the older style Tamiya bodies.

Just like our F206F1 1/10 scale R/C car but for the Group C and GTP and LMP cars .

And I was going to ask SamP if he could do a cad of these car bodies?
and if he could scale up his LMP bodie to fit my Chassis / Complete roller?

What do you say sammy.

All I would need to make a 3D Solid Model of those bodies is something I can take dimensions off of. It could be any scale, as I could scale it up or down in CAD.
Interesting that you mention that, actually, because now I'm wondering just how big a vacform machine I'd need to mold an LMP body for my 1/8 scale Kyosho Inferno GT!

I would say 36 x 30 for I was looking at making one in 24x28 for 1/10 scale F1 cars

Plus this Zprinter danielj posted is out of this world but I do not have 25,000.00 just sitting around

The Ferrari body or one very similar was available several years ago in 1/12 scale from BBR in N. CA.

We really need to bring race cars back to RC racing....

I'm really contemplating finally going back and finishing my BSME degree. My wife's words were "are you going back solely to help you build RC cars?" I just laughed!!!!

Sammy, building a vacuum former isn't all that hard. It's not going to be comparable to a high volume shops but it will get the job done.

It takes quite a bit of time to create the complex 3D surfaces in CAD. Depending on how much time I can allocate to work on it each day, it would probably take me a week or so to model up each design. It's been busy around here so I really wouldn't want to commit to doing more than I can handle right now. It sounds like the 333SP is fairly popular, and I'm a pretty big fan of the guys in red, so I might focus on that one next. Just need to find a good scale replica to dimension off of.

Yeah, I really need some motivation to get this mold completed, and this is doing it. If I have to watch one more field of cars with amorphous Mazdas and Stratus blobs, I'm gonna go nuts.

Man, if you're already through the hard part of the BSME curriculum, it's a no brainer about going back and finishing up the last few years that are a heck of a lot more interesting than the first two!

My biggest hurdle is I started in the mid 80's... Things have changed a lot! I only know how to draw by hand. I was actually thinking about taking a CADD course through the local CC before I decided to comit myself to returning. My wife is going back for her masters at night, so I figure 2 can play that game...

I don't know if I'd have the patience to digitize an already existing car 1 figure at a time. I know I was watching something where they were digitizing cars with a camera and hundreds of targets placed all over the body, even that had to be extremely time consuming.
