You have the option to let MRT store your amb or not. If you allow them to keep then you will get the i-PT with better price. So, I believe one reason is that. Another reason is that i-PT is better internally and wont have any known problems using it like you have with amb's.

I chose to keep my original AMB (Team CRC Red T-Fource) and ordered an light blue i-PT for my Xray T2

Terry,
I just started reading this thread and I must admit I was excited..at first. I think your original idea is spot on for a replacement of a damaged PT's or to upgrade to your improved iPT.
Clones is where it all goes HORRIBLY WRONG! There is no way to prevent, keep or stop someone from selling "their" equipment due to any number of reasons. Divorce, cash flow issues, to many toys, or just loss of interest (it does happen) or heaven forbid, stolen equipment. It is almost certain these will be resold locally resulting in nothing but conflict. The problem iPT's will be from YOUR COMPANY. I would think you would want to keep your reputation (which is excellent) in tact.
The ONLY way AMB could pull off and sell the personal transponder idea was to have 'NO TWO ALIKE'. (period) The clone concept is ripe for disaster and a total loss of confidence in the system. Anarchy will result, also cats and dogs sleeping together etc. (ie. it gets ugly) You get the picture....
The same reason you can not invent your own numbers is the same reason not to clone. The "NO TWO ALIKE" requirement is lost. You have to way of assuring your invented number would not conflict with an AMB number.
Again, I think you have a great idea on replacements and an vastly superior product as an upgrade. Just PLEASE, reconsider the debacle cloning WILL result in.

I ordered a few of these as well. In an email I receieved from Terry earlier today he said that our AMBrc PT's are returned to us (Just as Harsh's was.) The discount is just for an introductory period.
