B3 tires, green inserts, NSX or Ferrari 360/F430 body, hopup wing for regional races. For the nationals (if you win the trip to Japan) you CANNOT use the NSX or Ferrari bodies in GT2 or GT3.

I plan to be out there, but I'm leaning towards GT1 or GT2 this year. I've only run the mini once since last year, and it wasn't pretty.

But don't worry, there's a good chance a buddy of mine will be going this year and he'll definitely be up there with the fast mini guys.

Should be fun!

I really wanted to get into GT1, but I figured if I am giving it my first try at TCS and really r/c racing, I better tryout GT2 first. The only car I have is a TA04R, and while I might get my butt handed to me, atleast it will give me a sense of what to expect and thats what I need most.

Does anyone run the blue inserts in the B3 tires at the Tamiya track, or would I be wasting my time? I planned to build a few sets with green inserts and a few more with blacks, but I also had a few blue inserts to play around with. But if they will NOT work, I will not do it.

What about original B's? Is the black insert the way to go in those?

Generally the track never gets cool enough to use blue inserts in the B3 tires. When the track is towards the cooler temps, you are using A's.

By original B's, do you mean B2's???

No, no.....not the dreaded B2's! I think they call those Type-D "drift" tires now. I have some original B's sold in sets with the black inserts. Just saving them for a special occasion.

I'll have a few A's in my box, just in case. But if the weather is anything like last year, the A's will never come out.

I haven't seen those in a long time! Weren't those 26mm tires instead of the 24mm tires that they sell now? If I am wrong, and they are the 24mm width, i say build them and give it a shot.

The B2's were 24mm and are great, if it's about 150 F degrees out and your racing against Satan. However, if you are originally from Norway and really miss ice racing, slap some on when it is in the 70's and it will just be like home.

BTW - the 26mm tires (that are legal for some mini class cars like the BMW Z3 roadster or TL-01 spec class) only came in A and B compound, plus those high grip "kit" tires.
