Default Traveling to San Jose ... where to race

I'm going to be in the the San Jose area for a couple weeks for work. I plan to bring my Pro4 with me, and I'd like to know where some fun tracks are that are relatively close, as well as when said track races electric TC.

Suggestions?

There is an indoor carpet track in Gilroy. I would say about 40 min or so south down 101. It all depends on traffic. Go to rcracing.com that seems to be the bay area website for info.

The Hobby Town USA in Fremont is racing this Saturday. Electric and N18s
RCCAR is racing Saturday at Mission College in San Jose. Gas/Electric
I think Ripon is racing Saturday night....I'm not 100% on that though...
SCRC in Santa Cruz is racing on Sunday. Gas/Electric
Nationals Practice at Speed World in Roseville Friday, Saturday with the Nats starting next Wednesday.

Thats all I can think of right now....

HobbyTown alternates between their San Jose & Fremont locations to race a few times a month. Well ran programs and the traction is exceptionally good for a parking lot track.

Ripon is a world-class permanent facility, similar to the Tamiya Track, also professionally ran but it's a little over an hour away from San Jose.

Santa Cruz Race Club and RCCAR are also great parking lot tracks in the Bay Area, but you'll see more nitro cars than us electrics.

I have a Pro4 setup for you at these tracks just look for me my name is Marc.

check http://www.rcracing.com for the bay area message board/ race schedule. Note: Hobbytown SJ not racing the 10th of june

How up-to-date is the track data that RC Car Action has? They show two tracks (Andy's RC Unlimited and Castle Hobbies) that are apparantly 21 ft. apart.

Now, I know that CA has a rep as having a LOT of RC racing, and RC tracks grow on trees out there, but 21 ft. apart! I gotta believe that data is old. 8)

RC Unlimited is the old Castle Hobbies. There is no organized racing there. Just T-Maxx mayhem. Castle Hobbies used to be the host Hobby Store for RCCAR but that is a long story. RCCAR now runs at Mission College in Santa Clara which is about 20 minutes from RCCAR.

Is there also a shop there? Assuming I was looking at the right site, riponspeedway.com, I didn't see any mention of one. But I did see that they will not be racing this weekend. Are those tracks open for practice during the week, etc.?

So, if Hobbytown isn't racing this weekend, Ripon isn't racing this weekend, and SCRC & RCCAR are primarily nitro, where's an electric guy to race? 8) Are most tracks not racing this weekend due to the ROAR on-road nats?

Yes, all club races are cancelled due to the ROAR on-road nats being so near the bay area.
