Default Single Double Triple

Only being new to mod, how do I know when to run a single, double or triple wind motor.

Multiple winds - smoother powerband, slightly more efficient, choose for lower-grip, flowing tracks.

Single winds - punchier feel, less efficient, for grippier/tighter tracks.
