Sorry if this question has been asked before but I was wondering which Novak brushless motor is closest to a 19T brushed motor - the 4300 or the 5800? We are setting up our classes for summer racing and we want to combine the 19T with one of these and was trying to get a feel for which is most fair in general. This is on-road touring car.

4300 is very similar to a 19t. The 4300 has tremendous grunt off the corners (I said grunt) and the 19t usually is a tick faster on top end. My laptimes at the Novak in brushless 4300 class were as fast as the top three in Sportsman 19t and the laptimes of Doseck and Ron Atomic were probably A-main Expert 19t laptimes.

With the brushless in sportsman mode, it's alot like a 19. We've been letting a few run with us in oval. Very competetive.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I know a lot of people disconnect the temp sensor wire on the 4300s to gear them up. I would rather not have to do that if I can help it.

The 4300 is a nice set up. I have both, and the 5800 is so much quicker than a 19 and top end is much more than a 19.

Are you going to be practicing this weekend at the Hobby Shop track?

The 5800 is rated at 196W and the 4300 is 175W. A good machine wound 19T is in the 185 to 190W range.

On a big track the 5800 runs close to hand wound 19T. The 4300 has the top end of a regular 19T motor but with far less torq.

Yeah I will be there this weekend. Will probably focus on my nitro to get it setup and see if I want to race it some this summer. Though Ive had my RDX for 2 months and never ran it so I might run that too

What are you leaning towards running this summer?

on a 300 foot oval the 4300 is less than 3 seconds off the best 19 turn track record. the 5800 in the right hands at a oval track would be laps faster than any current 19 turn motor.

4300 is very close to 19 turn in oval
5800 would be a nice expert class

Well I have been running stock touring with rubber tires. I am going out to WV to race at the memorial day race. I yanked out my GTB from the T2 and put in a Q2. I may sell the GTB and get a Sphere Comp. I hate the Novak crappy programing of the GTB. I wish Tekin made a 1/10 brushless based on the G10/11 setup. That is an awsome esc. Should have kept my 2 G10's that I sold this past year.

the LRp is awsome I switched from the GTB and its great and very easy to change the profiles, and its really simple to change to a brushed motor, oh and alot lighter

Im kinda leaning towards going stock rubber tire too. It just cost so much less to run the rubber tires it seems. Took my GTB out and put my Q2 in as well. I think I would run brushless more of they could find a way to make the ESCs much smaller and easier to fit in the cars. Let me know how you like the sphere. Seems like it has a slightly larger footprint then the GTB but not as tall? Is that correct?
