Not posting any pics? I guess that pic under your user name isn't you then?

If there isn't a track in your area, learning might be a little more difficult. Only true way to learn how to race is experience. First thing you will need to do is learn the basics of controlling the car. Getting where you can drive the car without actually thinking what you are doing will be a big help. Set up obstacles in your driveway and practice driving around those.

When I first started I built a track in my backyard, that was before I even knew organized racing existed. My parents couldn't understand why I would want to go pay to race, when I had my own track. Racing has become as much of a social activity for me as it is a hobby. Good luck getting started, I know you will enjoy after you get the hang of everything.

I live in san diego, but the nearest track is in LA, yet I travel as long as I have the time and money. I've seen girls race. They're good! I know if girls just saw the race, and saw over grown men playing w/ their little kids' toys, they'd enjoy it too. I let a few friends of mines mess w/ my RC a few times (With extremely close supervision of course,) and they enjoyed it as well. I've taken a few girls to races, and a few of them are also interested now. Problem is, they'd rather fork over the 3 4 5hundred dollars to the nearest Abercrombie and Fitch store than at the nearest LHS. heheh. my ex-gf got into it a lot, and wish she can race, but it's an expensive sport. But I really do see it comming. Import drag racing now has the "Girlie Girl Racing team".. anyone think it can happen for RC?

I think her Dad goes by Smitty in the Nitro forums here. Send him a E-mail or PM. He seems like a nice person.
Yes, Smitty's daughter does race. She was actually racing at our regionals last year with a Serpent impulse. She's cute and we all have a good time seeing a little girl on the driver stand duking out with some real fast guys. Smitty definitely raise her well! And kudos to her, she remembers to drop her car off for scrutineering after every qualifier!
I have a picture of her on our club's website.

david and boomer are right, onroad is clearer, I was only asking because there is a off road track right in little rock, by the airport.

They are probilly closed this time of year, but they will be starting up in April.

Hey TeamRoy!
What Mike F. was saying was that, yes, the picture below my username is of me. I don't have a car YET to post in its place, so I'm just using my picture.

Trucks, David, and Boomer-
A little mud wouldn't bother me at all. If I'm going to be playing with kids' toys anyway, I might as well have some fun in the mud while I'm at it.

OK, Mort, you got me and I totally had it coming, but it shouldn't count, cuz you didn't even have to try. Usually I'm at least aware of it when I make a potentially embarrasing remark. But that was so not even what I was thinking.

I was thinking more along the lines of - childhood...carefree... playing in the dirt.......ah, nevermind.
