Default Help with 1/10 EP project.

Budget: $600
Goal: 1/10 EP that'll be using for drifting on street, occaionally drag race with Nitro tc3 and mugen. No plan to race at the moment, but maybe later.

Initial thoughts:
- FT TC4 (best part support @ LHS), or what's better for street bashing?
-Neo combo - which combo 1/2/3/4 star? Or Novak - which system?
-Radio: Wanted Spectrum dx3 but rather spend $ on brushless combo, something do able - nothing fancy, please suggest. I guess I can even try to get used gear
- Battery: GP3300 packs, I have some 2100 3s lipo I'm using for airplane and Trex, I guess I can use those (Can I?)

Do you think this can be done?
Suggestions are welcome, and appreciated.

I sold all my nitro car/truck stuff when I moved to airplane and heli few years ago. Now I'm coming back, but this time I'll stick with EP.
I was going to get CD3 Pro or NTC3 but I don't have time to tinker... I want more time to play.

To be honest for what u want it to do i would save the scratch on the FT and just get the regular one. Top speed and drift potenial is the same only your scrathing up a tub chassis instead of $$$$ graphite chassis. Later on when u come to your sence and want to go racing you can pimp the car with the FT conversion kit(in the end the price is with 5$ so your not going to over spend by cheaping out on the car now and upgrading later) Other cars to consider losi xxxs, tamiya ta05, yokomo sgm SD and now cyclone has a tub chassis. AGain go tub for what your doing

Radio: Get futaba low end FM radio has quality reliable singals and is good for racing. Crystals are now all open for racing as everyone dumped the radios for spectrums so when u do go racing your crystal equipt radio will not likely have conflicts. In 10+years of racing i have never had conflict issues at races and now with 50% of my club running spectrum i likely never will have conflicts ever

Radio: Lipos more power less weight. AGain for what your doing.

Thanks for the reply, makes sense.
As for brushless system, which would you recommend?
Neo combo - which combo 1/2/3/4 star? Or Novak - which system?

Neo being new, Novak seems to have lots of problem (so I heard/read)

Also, what do you think about tt-01d kit or ta03 drift spec or yok drift package?
I know they're made for drifting, but will it be stable for drag bashing?

so, any car will work for drifting, so long as it has camber, toe, and the like

a tc4 is a nice ride, my step-dad has it, and the stock motor is perfect for a cross between speed and drifting

just get some 2in ABS (the black stuff) and cut it to fit some rims, then slap it on your car,

for more in-dept set-up post on the offical drift thread...

I'm thinking about this:
Team Associated RC10 TC4 Kit : 184.95
Airtronics : MX-3 Transmitter & Receiver Only/75 89.95 (I can't pass this price)

Now which brushless system should I get? Novak or Neo? Which package?
Do you think brushless system can beat nitro tc3 in drag?

Thanks in advance.
