Novak recommend an FDR of 4.5 for the 13.5 with a sintered rotor. So if you go to www.gearchart.com you can find the exact combo to run. If your running the cyclone S with the standard 16t pulleys then the gear combo to run would be around a 70 spur and 35 pinion which will give you an FDR of 4.88, check temps after 2 mins practice and gear up or down accordingly by changing the pinion, you should be coming off at about 80 degrees celsius after 5mins. I would honestly run 48 pitch gears mate they are easier to work with.

Thanks a lot man !!
Im all new to electrics so that speech about 64p v/s 48p its totally unknown to me and im learning. What do i need to "transform" the stock 64p setup to 48p ?, and ... what would be a good setup to start on this car on 48p ?
thanks,
Pato

Thanks guys for help on gearing, im looking now to buy online 69 - 70 - 71 spurs on 64p and 34 - 35 - 36 on 64p pinions ...
The problem is that all the online stores i know only have 90+ teeth 64p spurs !!!, whre can i get lower numbers ?
Now, if i buy 48p spurs and pinions, will be fit ok ?, if so, wich configuration would be good for 13.5 brushless ?
thanks !

Stock driveline
Planning on running 13.5 and lipo-Will the stock driveline(outdrives, pulleys, ect.) of the cyclone-s hold up?Don't have a lot of $$ and the price on the tub kit is VERY attractive.Track is asphalt outdoors w/rubber tire. Or would 17.5 be a better choice. thnx-

I've been running my cyc S with a 19 turn motor and 6 cells for 3 months now with no problems on a carpet track. I did have to put a thicker spacer on the center shaft, but that was a $.75 mod. The rest of the car is stock. It's always fun when you spank a few high dollar cars with a $129 plastic cyclone!

Last year i was living in Colombia, and they race 19t / 10.5 brushless class, and the top drivers are racing Cyclone S cars on asphalt ... high dollars drivers put strange faces when they get passed by US$ 150 car

Hi guys/gals,
Purchased a Cyclone S RTR a few weeks ago as a spare to practice on and have a question I hope you can help me with? It came with the Jolt+R ESC and I was wondering what turn motor this can handle? I've looked on the net without much luck.
thanks in advance

Alright!! I got my Cyclone S ordered from Speedtech so it should be here in a few days. Can't wait to start racing touring cars again. Have not raced those since they became popular in the early 90's. Probably going to run it stock for awhile, then upgrade, would you guys recommend starting with the drivetrain or suspension? I will only be running in the stock class.
Thanks,
Phil
